The minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario ()—previously the Minister of State responsible for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario—is the minister in the Canadian Cabinet who also serves as the chief executive of Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor). Since 2015, the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages is ''ex officio'' the Minister responsible for FedNor. The post is traditionally held by a member of parliament from Northern Ontario, although occasionally the responsibilities have been accorded to a more senior cabinet minister, such as the Industry Minister (in the case of Tony Clement). Patricia A. Hajdu (; born November 3, 1966) is a Canadian politician who has served as the minister of Indigenous services since October 26, 2021. A member of the Liberal Party, she also serves as the member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Superior North. The Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (PC; french: Parti progressiste-conservateur du Canada) was a centre-right federal political party in Canada that existed from 1942 to 2003. The Twenty-Ninth Canadian Ministry is the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, that began governing Canada shortly before the opening of the 42nd Parliament. The original members were sworn in during a ceremony held at Rideau Hall on November 4, 2015. Those who were not already members of the privy council were sworn into it in the same ceremony. Joseph Robert Comuzzi, (April 5, 1933 – December 31, 2021) was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as a cabinet minister under Prime Minister Paul Martin. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1988 to 2008, representing Thunder Bay—Nipigon which was renamed Thunder Bay—Superior North in 2000.
