Minister For Trade Union Relations
The Minister for Trade Union Relations was a Spanish Cabinet, Spanish cabinet position. The holder was considered a minister without portfolio and was responsible for the relations between the Government of Spain, Government and the Spanish Syndical Organization (known as ''Sindicato Vertical'', the only union allowed during the Francoist Spain, Francoist regime). The position was active during the last years of the dictatorship and it was not just responsible for the relations with the Trade Union but the direct management of it. The minister chaired the main bodies of the Trade Union. Created by the Trade Union Act of 1971, the office existed until 1977 when the freedom of assembly and of Freedom of association, association were approved and it started the process to disband the Trade Union Organization. Francoist Spain ( es, España franquista), or the Francoist dictatorship (), was the period of Spanish history between 1939 and 1975, when Francisco Franco ruled Spain after the Spanish Civil War with the title . After his death in 1975, Spain transitioned into a democracy. During this time period, Spain was officially known as the Spanish State (). The nature of the regime evolved and changed during its existence. Months after the start of the Spanish Civil War in July 1936, Franco emerged as the dominant rebel military leader and was proclaimed head of state on 1 October 1936, ruling a dictatorship over the territory controlled by the Nationalist faction. Spanish Syndical Organization
The Spanish Syndical Organization ( es, Organización Sindical Española; OSE), popularly known in Spain as the (the "Vertical Trade Union"), was the sole legal trade union for most of the Francoist dictatorship. A public-law entity created in 1940, the vertically-structured OSE was a core part of the project for frameworking the Economy and the State in Francoist Spain, following the trend of the new type of "harmonicist" and corporatist understanding of labour relations vouching for worker–employer collaboration developed in totalitarian regimes such as those of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy in the first half of the 20th century. Up until the early 1950s, it internally worked—at least on a rhetorical basis—according to the discourse of national syndicalism.
