Minga Y Petraca
''Minga y Petraca'' (later known as ''Minga y Tomasa'') was a television show produced in Puerto Rico by Antonio "El Gangster" Sanchez since 1992 up until early 2005 on Telemundo Puerto Rico, channel 2. Sanchez and actor Johnny Ray Rodríguez played ''Minga'' and ''Petraca'' (respectively), two middle aged, mustached "ladies" who dedicate themselves to reading such magazines as '' Vea'', '' Teve Guia'' and other popular Puerto Rican gossip magazines. They commented on the stories published, making fun of the articles. After reading magazine articles, they would get into comedic situations with their friends, husbands and families. Their husbands have never actually been shown on the show, only their voices are heard. Minga and Petraca are from the Santurce area of San Juan. Johnny Ray Rodríguez
Johnny Ray Rodríguez —better known simply as Johnny Ray— is an actor, comedian and dancer of Puerto Rican descent. Ray is known for his character of Petraca in the comedy ''Minga y Petraca'' and for his imitation of Iris Chacón. Career From sitcoms to soap operas, plays, musicals, CD recordings, standup comedy, dance and film, this native New Yorker from the Bronx is a major force in the entertainment industry of Puerto Rico. Alex Soto
Alex Soto Hernández (July 29, 1965 – April 9, 2015) was a Puerto Rican actor, comedian and drag queen, who was well known for his transvestite characterizations. Soto was a native of San Juan, where he worked on several theatrical productions. Biography Soto was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Julio Soto Cosme and Carmen Hernández Coriano. He had two sisters, Magali and Ivette, and a brother, Denis. Since a very young age, he found work as an actor in Puerto Rican theatre, and during the 2000s, he gained popular exposure on the famed television show, ''Minga y Petraca'', playing "Tomasa", a neighborhood lady. In 2002, Soto portrayed a drag queen in a theater play named ''Vidas de Herejes'', which was a hit play. He reprised the role when the play returned to the theaters during 2004 and 2010.
