Oriental Mindoro ( tl, Silangang Mindoro), officially the Province of Oriental Mindoro, is a province in the Philippines located on the island of Mindoro under Mimaropa region in Luzon, about southwest of Manila. The province is bordered by the Verde Island Passage and the rest of Batangas to the north, by Marinduque, Maestre de Campo (or known as ''Sibale'' but official name is ''Concepcion'') Island, Tablas Strait and the rest of Romblon to the east, by Semirara and the rest of Caluya Islands, Antique to the south, and by Occidental Mindoro to the west. Calapan, the only city in the island, is the provincial capital and Mimaropa's regional center. Oriental Mindoro is touted as the country's emerging eco-tourism destination. Puerto Galera
Puerto Galera, officially the Municipality of Puerto Galera ( tgl, Bayan ng Puerto Galera), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 41,961 people. It is mainly accessible from the Southern Luzon gateway port of Batangas by bamboo boats (''bangka'') operated by local regular operators. Bansud, Oriental Mindoro
Bansud, officially the Municipality of Bansud ( tgl, Bayan ng Bansud), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 42,671 people. Etymology The name of the town is said to be derived from a legend. The legend says that long ago the Mangyans, the aborigines of the Mindoro settled in the lands near the mouth of Bansud River, which they called “Basud” which means Delta. The delta provided fertile soil for the people; hence they lived there peacefully and productively until the time that settlers from the province of Marinduque and Visayan Islands moved in. Victoria, officially the Municipality of Victoria ( tgl, Bayan ng Victoria), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. Roxas, officially the Municipality of Roxas, is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. It has a population of 58,849 according to the 2020 census. Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro
Mansalay, officially the Municipality of Mansalay ( tgl, Bayan ng Mansalay), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 59,114 people. This town is notable for its indigenous Mangyan population.
