Millie Hamner is an American educator and politician who served as a member of the Colorado State House of Representatives and a former superintendent of schools for Summit County, Colorado. Career In December 2010, Rep. Christine Scanlan resigned from the House District 56 seat to join the administration of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. A committee of HD-56 Democrats selected Hamner to fill the vacancy, and Hamner served the remainder of Scanlan's term. Millie Scott is an American R&B singer who had moderate success in the US ''Billboard'' R&B chart during the 1980s. Biography Scott was born in Savannah on the coast of Georgia. She first sang gospel, before becoming a jazz singer. After moving to New York, she was enticed to move to Detroit by The Temptations, and she remains in Detroit to this day. In 1971 she formed the group Quiet Elegance along with Lois Reeves and Frankie Gearing. They toured with The Temptations and signed to the Hi Records label in 1972, releasing a number of singles. Mildred Lewis "Miss Millie" Rutherford (July 16, 1851 – August 15, 1928) was a prominent white supremacist educator and author from Athens, Georgia. She served the Lucy Cobb Institute, as its head and in other capacities, for over forty years, and oversaw the addition of the Seney-Stovall Chapel to the school. Heavily involved in many organizations, she became the historian general of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), and a speech given for the UDC was the first by a woman to be recorded in the Congressional Record. Millie Kirkham (born Mildred Eakes; June 24, 1923 – December 14, 2014) was an American singer who was featured on many classic hit recordings from the mid-1950s through the 1980s. Biography Mildred Jeffrey's mother, Bertha McWilliams, who raised Millie alongside six other children, became Iowa's first female registered pharmacist in 1908 and owned a drugstore in Alton and later in Minneapolis.
