Millie Hamner
Millie Hamner is an American educator and politician who served as a member of the Colorado State House of Representatives and a former superintendent of schools for Summit County, Colorado. Career In December 2010, Rep. Christine Scanlan resigned from the House District 56 seat to join the administration of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. A committee of HD-56 Democrats selected Hamner to fill the vacancy, and Hamner served the remainder of Scanlan's term. After the 2012 redistricting of Colorado legislative boundaries, Hamner ran as a Democrat for the newly-redrawn District 61 seat in the 2012 General Election. Colorado's House District 61 includes Summit, Lake and Pitkin counties and parts of Delta and Gunnison counties. She was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Christine Scanlan
Christine Scanlan (born c. 1964) is a former legislator in the U.S. state of Colorado. A Democrat appointed to a vacancy in the Colorado House of Representatives in 2007, Scanlan represented House District 56, encompassing Eagle, Lake and Summit Counties, including the skiing communities of Vail and Breckenridge from 2007 to 2010. Early career Scanlan was born in Littleton, Colorado, and graduated from Columbine High School. Currently a resident of Dillon, Colorado, and a resident of Summit County since 1995, she holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in nonprofit organization management from Regis University. The Western Slope is the part of the state of Colorado west of the Continental Divide. Bodies of water west of the Divide flow toward the Pacific Ocean; water that falls and flows east of the Divide heads east toward the Gulf of Mexico. John Wright Hickenlooper Jr. (; born February 7, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Colorado since 2021. Summit County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,055. The county seat and largest town is Breckenridge. Summit County comprises the Breckenridge, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Summit County was organized as one of the seventeen original Colorado counties by the First Territorial Legislature on November 1, 1861. It was named for the many mountain summits in the county.
