Milan Bartovič
Milan Bartovič (born April 9, 1981) is a Slovak former professional ice hockey left winger, who last played for HK Dukla Trenčín in the Slovak Extraliga. He was drafted 35th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career After playing junior hockey in the Western Hockey League for the Tri-City Americans and Brandon Wheat Kings, Bartovič began his professional career in 2001–02 with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Through 2004–05, Bartovič played in the National Hockey League for the Buffalo Sabres for a total of 26 games. On October 24, 2005, the Sabres traded Bartovič to the Chicago Blackhawks for goaltender Michael Leighton. After playing 24 games for the Blackhawks and an additional 49 games with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, Bartovič became a free agent on July 1, 2006, and elected to play in Sweden for the 2006–07 season. Rochester Americans
The Rochester Americans (colloquially known as the Amerks) are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League; the team is an owned and operated affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. The team plays its home games in Rochester, New York, at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The Americans are the fourth oldest franchise in the AHL, and have the second longest continuous tenure among AHL teams in their current locations after the Hershey Bears. Rochester was awarded a new franchise in June 1956, when the Pittsburgh Hornets were forced to suspend operations after their arena, the Duquesne Gardens was razed in an urban renewal project. Tri-City Americans
The Tri-City Americans are a major junior ice hockey team of the Western Hockey League, based in Kennewick, Washington. The team plays its home games at Toyota Center (Kennewick), Toyota Center. Every game is broadcast locally on the Tri-City Americans' flagship radio station KFLD, 870 AM KFLD, and each game can also be heard streaming live aKFLD's UStream Channel as well as occasionally being telecast on Saturday nights on KVEW 42.2. 2007 Men's World Inline Hockey Championships
The 2007 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships was the 12th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament was divided into two divisions, the top division, for the teams ranked 1st–8th in the world. Additionally, Division I consisted of the teams ranked 9th–16th in the world. All 16 teams would be eligible to win the top division world championship. At the conclusion of pool play, the last placed teams in pools A & B played in cross-over games against the winners of pool C & D. The winners advanced to the playoff in the top division, while the losers were entered into the Division I playoff round. Swedish Hockey League
The Swedish Hockey League (officially SHL; sv, Svenska Hockeyligan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. The league was founded in 1975, and while Swedish ice hockey champions have been crowned through various formats since 1922, the title and the Le Mat Trophy have been awarded to the winner of the SHL playoffs since the league's inaugural 1975–76 season. In the 2010–11 season, the SHL was the world's most evenly matched professional ice hockey league. During the 2011–12 season, the SHL was the most well attended ice hockey league in Europe, averaging 6,385 spectators per game, however in 2013–14, the SHL was third best in Europe, with an attendance average of 5,978. Atlanta Thrashers
The Atlanta Thrashers were a professional ice hockey team based in Atlanta. Atlanta was granted a franchise in the National Hockey League (NHL) on June 25, 1997, and became the League's 28th franchise when it began play in the 1999–2000 season. They were members of the Southeast Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference, and played their home games at what is now known as State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. The Thrashers qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs in the 2006–07 season, after winning the Southeast Division, but were swept in the first round by the New York Rangers. Norfolk Admirals (AHL)
The Norfolk Admirals were a professional ice hockey team that played in the American Hockey League. They became affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks after being dropped from the Tampa Bay Lightning following their 2012 AHL championship season. The Admirals played in Norfolk, Virginia at the Norfolk Scope. For the 2015–16 season, the Admirals moved to San Diego, California to become the newest version of the San Diego Gulls as part of the AHL's efforts to create a Pacific Division. Michael Leighton
Michael W. Leighton (born May 19, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes. Playing career Leighton grew up playing minor hockey in his hometown of Petrolia, Ontario, for the Petrolia Oilers of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association's Bluewater League. He played in the 1995 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Lambton County.
