Mikey Ambrose
Michael Ambrose (born October 5, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender. Career Youth, college and amateur Ambrose spent four seasons with the FC Dallas Development Academy before signing a letter of intent to play college soccer at the University of Maryland. He made a total of 71 appearances for the Terrapins and tallied one goal and 15 assists. Ambrose also played for the Austin Aztex while they were playing in the Premier Development League. Professional On January 14, 2015, Ambrose left college early to sign a professional contract with the Austin Aztex who moved up to the USL. He made his professional debut on March 28 in a 2–0 victory over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Atlanta United FC, commonly known as Atlanta United, is an American professional soccer club based in Atlanta that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the league's Eastern Conference. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental association football, soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. 2017 Atlanta United FC Season
The 2017 Atlanta United FC season was the first season of Atlanta United FC's existence, and the ninth year that a professional soccer club from Atlanta, Georgia competed in the top division of American soccer. Atlanta played at Bobby Dodd Stadium for the first half of the season, then finished the season at the team's new stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, once it was completed in September. The team was coached by Gerardo "Tata" Martino. Outside of MLS, Atlanta United participated in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup and the 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs, as well as various preseason competitions. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. 2015 Austin Aztex Season
The 2015 Austin Aztex season was the club's fourth season of existence. The club is now playing in the United Soccer League (formerly named USL Pro), the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. They were previously in the USL PDL the last 3 seasons, where they won the 2013 Championship, and the appeared in the Conference Finals in 2012 and 2014. The 2019 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on November 26, 2019 (Stage 1) and December 3, 2019 (Stage 2). All 26 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate. The priority order for the MLS Re-Entry Draft was reverse order of finish in 2019, taking into account playoff performance. The 2016 MLS Expansion Draft was a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion teams Atlanta United FC and Minnesota United FC. Atlanta United was selected to pick first by an "Expansion Priority Draft" conducted on October 16, 2016. Protected rosters are based on an MLS release from December 12, 2016.
