Mike Wengren
Michael Wengren (born September 3, 1971) is an American drummer, best known for his work with Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Disturbed (band), Disturbed. He is one of the founding members of the band, which was formed in 1994. Wengren is known for his bass drum techniques that have become a staple of Disturbed's music. Biography Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Wengren has been playing drums since around the age of 10. He attended Curie High School on the Southwest side of Chicago. He has been quoted as saying that Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Testament (band), Testament, Mötley Crüe, Pantera, Iron Maiden, and Racer X (band), Racer X were his strongest influences. On August 31, 2005, before the set closed, frontman David Draiman handed the microphone to Wengren, who invited his girlfriend onstage and proposed marriage to her. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. ''Evolution'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. It was released on October 19, 2018, by Reprise Records. The album's first single, " Are You Ready", was released before the album in August 2018, while the second single, "A Reason to Fight", was released a month later. The third single, "No More", was released on June 2, 2019. The album debuted at number four on the ''Billboard'' 200, making it Disturbed's sixth straight top 5 album. ''Immortalized'' is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. The album was released on August 21, 2015 by Reprise Records, and is Disturbed's first studio album since ''Asylum'' (2010), marking the longest gap between two studio albums in their career. With 98,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, ''Immortalized'' is Disturbed's fifth consecutive number one debut on the United States ''Billboard'' 200 chart. They are the third band in history to achieve this feat, after Metallica and Dave Matthews Band. ''The Lost Children'' is a B-sides compilation album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. It was released on November 8, 2011. The album was announced in August 2011 by David Draiman via Twitter, where he answered several questions regarding the album. Background The title comes from the band calling the songs "their children", because they can't pick a favorite. ''The Lost Children'' features all of Disturbed's B-side tracks that were recorded during a time period of 11 years with the exception of the song "Glass Shatters" which is only available on ''WWF Forceable Entry''. The only song on the album not previously available is "Mine". A track titled " 3", which was originally released as a digital single on the band's website for a campaign backing the West Memphis Three, was not originally intended to be released on the album but was included due to a surprise hearing for the West Memphis Three, resulting in their release from prison. ''Asylum'' is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. It was released on August 31, 2010, in the United States through Reprise Records. The album is meant to take a fresh direction in the band's music career, while remaining consistent with the band's previous albums. Most of the lyrical content was inspired by aspects of frontman David Draiman's life prior to making the album. ''Indestructible'' is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. A self-produced effort, ''Indestructible'' is the first Disturbed album that did not feature Johnny K, the producer of Disturbed's previous three albums, ''The Sickness'', '' Believe'', and ''Ten Thousand Fists''. ''Indestructible'' was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Illinois. Sabian is a Canadian and Armenian cymbal manufacturing company established in 1981 in Meductic, New Brunswick, where it is still headquartered. Sabian is considered one of the ''big four'' manufacturers of cymbals, along with Zildjian, Meinl and Paiste. History Sabian Cymbals was founded in 1981, by Robert Zildjian, when he had a conflict with his brother Armand after he was not chosen to be the main CEO and successor of Avedis Zildjian. Robert opened Sabian in the small eastern Canadian village of Meductic, New Brunswick. The name 'Sabian' comes from the first two letters of the names of Robert's three children (Sally, Billy, and Andy).
