Mike Watts (broadcaster)
Mike Watts is an American audio engineer, mixer, and record producer, who has worked with a variety of artists including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Glassjaw, As Cities Burn, Hopesfall, As Tall As Lions, The Dear Hunter, and Gates (band), Gates. Watts has owned and operates VuDu Studios in Long Island, New York (state), New York. for past 23 years. He graduated from the Aaron Copeland School of Music, majoring in percussion and music business. Watts opened VuDu Studios in 1997 which started as a small one room facility. As his success continued, VuDu moved into a 9,000 square foot multi-room recording compound in Port Jefferson, NY. Odd Project
Odd Project was an American metalcore band from Orange County, California, that originally formed in 2000 and has recorded a few demos which resulted in a multi-album deal with Indianola Records. Odd Project then entered the recording studio at Zing Studio's (Killswitch Engage, From Autumn to Ashes, The Agony Scene) and recorded " The Second Hand Stopped" in just less than two weeks. With this release, they toured for over a month and a half and won a spot on the main stage at Hellfest 2004. History The band was voted the "#1 Metal Band" on the now defunct MP3.com. ''As Tall as Lions'' is the second full-length album from As Tall as Lions. It was released on August 8, 2006, on Triple Crown Records. Recording and production The album took seven months to write and two months to record. It was produced by Mike Watts and Steve Haigler, and was released on CD and Limited Edition Vinyl. Critical reception The album received generally positive reviews. AbsolutePunk.net gave it a rating of nine out of ten, comparing them to (amongst others) Damien Rice, U2 and The Mars Volta. PopMatters was equally enthusiastic, giving it 8 out of 10 and calling it "skillful, beautiful, and musically significant". Alternative Press Magazine, known for reviewing mostly rock and indie bands, gave the album five of five stars and listed the band amongst their 2008's Most Anticipated Bands due to this "self-titled masterpiece." Yesterdays Rising
Yesterdays Rising was an American post-hardcore band from Murrieta, California, in Riverside County, United States. History Yesterdays Rising formed in 2002 and self-released their first EP (Ship of Relations) in 2003. The group signed to Fearless Records in 2004 and released a second EP (When We Speak, We Breathe) following it up with a run on the Vans Warped Tour 2004. With all of them still attending high school, they were said to have been one of the youngest bands to ever travel with the Warped Tour. The following year the band released a full-length record on Fearless Records (Lightworker) . The album was released while on the 2-month-long Warped Tour 2005. The Chariot (band)
The Chariot was an American hardcore punk band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of metalcore that did not adhere to typical stylings popular among their contemporaries such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes.
