Mike Sheerin is a Canadian, Toronto-based television producer. He started Architect Films - which currently produces ''Decked Out'', ''Deck Wars'' and ''Ice Cold Cash''. Decked Out
''Decked Out'' is a Canadian home renovation television series, which airs on HGTV Canada since 2011. Hosted by Paul Lafrance, a contractor who owns ''Cutting Edge Construction and Design'' in Pickering, Ontario, each episode depicts Lafrance and his team designing and building a unique and dramatic deck for a client. Related developments Prior to launching his own series, Lafrance appeared on several episodes of ''Breakfast Television'' and '' Holmes Inspection''. Deck Wars
''Deck Wars'' is a 2011 Canadian television series, airing on HGTV. It is considered a sister series to ''Decked Out'', and like ''Decked Out'', stars Paul Lafrance and his deck building crew. Unlike its sister series, ''Deck Wars'' is a game show that pits two teams of contestants against each other in building a deck in two days with a common theme. Format ''Deck Wars'' is filmed in an indoor warehouse. In each episode, two teams of two contestants must build a deck fitting a specified theme in two days. Both teams are given the same materials and an identical building facades set of tools, as well as the use of two of Paul's crew members; contestants may also bring in whatever materials that they deem necessary for their deck design. Canadaville, Louisiana
Canadaville (formally Magnaville) was a small community in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana just south of the town of Simmesport on Louisiana Highway 105. It was a project by Austro-Canadian industrialist Frank Stronach to build an experimental model community for people displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Canadaville occupied 3.69 square kilometres (912 acres) of land near the Atchafalaya River and opened in early December 2005. Rather than simply providing temporary shelter to the evacuees, Stronach intended Canadaville to help its residents integrate into a long-term holistic farming community that would raise livestock and seafood to be served at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida. The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television between 1986–2011 to recognize the achievements of Canada's television industry. The Gemini Awards are analogous to the Emmy Awards given in the United States and the BAFTA Television Awards in the United Kingdom. First held in 1986 to replace the ACTRA Award, the ceremony celebrated Canadian television productions with awards in 87 categories, along with other special awards such as lifetime achievement awards.
