Mike Score
Michael Gordon Score (born 5 November 1957) is an English singer, songwriter and musician who achieved worldwide fame as the founder, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the new wave band A Flock of Seagulls. He released a solo album on 1 March 2014 titled ''Zeebratta''. His band is one of the most influential of the 1980s and still shaping much of today's dance music, contemporary pop and electronic music. Early life Score was born in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England on November 5, 1957. Score was a hairdresser in Liverpool until in 1978 he formed the post-punk band Tontrix, in which he played bass, along with Hambi Haralambous (vocals), Steve Lovell (guitar), Bobby Carr (keyboards) and Chris Hughes (drums). The band released just one 7-inch 45 with two songs, Shell Shocked and Slipping into Life. A Flock Of Seagulls
A Flock of Seagulls are an English new wave band formed in Liverpool in 1979. The group, whose best-known line-up comprised Mike Score, Ali Score, Frank Maudsley and Paul Reynolds, hit the peak of their chart success in the early 1980s. The group had a string of international hit singles including "I Ran (So Far Away)" (1982), "Space Age Love Song" (1982), " Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" (1982), and "The More You Live, the More You Love" (1984). Their video for "I Ran (So Far Away)" received airplay on MTV during the Second British Invasion. The band won a Grammy Award in 1983 for their instrumental " D.N.A." (1982). The Fixx
The Fixx are a rock band from London, England, founded in 1979. ''String Theory'' is a 2021 album by the band ''A Flock Of Seagulls''. It is the band's seventh album and the second that follows an orchestral line that began with its predecessor '' Ascension'' in 2018. It was recorded at Tokyorama Studio in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Loop Studio in Trieste, Italy. History The album brings another part of the group's songs from their first three albums and the band's fifth album, once again featuring a partnership between the original members of the band, some guest musicians and the Slovenian Symphonic Film Orchestra. "Space Age Love Song" is a 1982 Single (music), single released by the British band A Flock of Seagulls. It was their fourth single. Lead guitarist Paul Reynolds (musician), Paul Reynolds remarked on their 1984 video album ''Through the Looking Glass'' that, as the band could not come up with a title for the track, he suggested "Space Age Love Song" because he thought it sounded like a ''space age love song''. The song reached the top 30 in the UK and the US in June 1982 and February 1983 respectively. Although the song was not A Flock of Seagulls' biggest hit in the UK or the US, it has maintained popularity since its release, featuring in numerous film and video game soundtracks, from 1998's ''The Wedding Singer'' to 2017's ''Spider-Man: Homecoming''. Prague Philharmonic Orchestra
The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was established in 1995, under the German conductor Friedemann Riehle. The orchestra has since produced many classical and film music recordings, working with labels such as Decca Records, Decca, EMI, Sony BMG and various international film studios. Internationally renowned soloists such as tenor Jonas Kaufmann or cellist Sol Gabetta have recorded CDs with the orchestra. The orchestra performs New Year's Eve Concerts, conducted by Riehle, and has also performed concerts at the Vienna State Opera, all major German concert halls, the Concertgebouw, Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and a special concert broadcast internationally from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. ''Ascension'' is the sixth studio album by English New wave band A Flock of Seagulls, released on 6 July 2018 by August Day Recordings. It is the band's first album since 1984's '' The Story of a Young Heart'' that features all four original members. It contains 12 songs (11 from the first three albums and one new song) re-recorded with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. "I Ran (So Far Away)", also released as "I Ran", is a song by English new wave band A Flock of Seagulls. It was released in 1982 as their third single and it was the second single from their self-titled debut album. It topped the chart in Australia, and reached number seven in New Zealand and number nine in the United States, although it failed to make the top 40 in the band's home country (United Kingdom). However, the song was certified silver by the BPI.
