Michael J. Parry (born January 5, 1953) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota Senate representing District 26, which included portions of Dodge County, Minnesota, Dodge, Freeborn County, Minnesota, Freeborn, Goodhue County, Minnesota, Goodhue, Mower County, Minnesota, Mower, Olmsted County, Minnesota, Olmsted, Rice County, Minnesota, Rice, Steele County, Minnesota, Steele, and Waseca County, Minnesota, Waseca counties in the southeastern part of the state. Early life, education, and business career Perry was born and raised in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Albert Lea. Parry served in the Minnesota Army National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant, and attended Brown College (Minnesota), Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. Dick Day
Richard Day (born March 9, 1937) in American politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 26, which includes portions of Dodge, Freeborn, Goodhue, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele and Waseca counties in the southeastern part of the state. A Republican, he was first elected in 1990, and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2006. Prior to redistricting in 1992 and 2002, he represented the old districts 30 and 28. Background Day was born on a farm in Rochester, Minnesota, where he graduated from Rochester High School. Jackson, Minnesota
Jackson is a city and county seat of Jackson County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,299 at the 2010 census. History Jackson was originally called Springfield, and under the latter name was laid out in 1856. A post office called Jackson has been in operation since 1858. On March 26 1857 the Wahpekute Dakota Chief Inkpaduta and his band attacked the settlement heading north after the Spirit Lake Massacre. There were 11 able bodied men in Springfield and three men, three children and one woman died as a result. Lost to the raiders were 12 horses, dry goods, lead and powder. Minnesota's 1st congressional district extends across southern Minnesota from the border with South Dakota to the border with Wisconsin. It is a primarily rural district built on a strong history of agriculture, though this is changing rapidly due to strong population growth in the Rochester combined statistical area. A member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019.
