Mike Margolin
Michael Margolin is an American former tennis player. Margolin, a left-hander, was a collegiate tennis player for the USC Trojans in the early 1970s. He is the brother of tennis player Stacy Margolin, who he partnered with in mixed doubles at three US Open tournaments. Michael Margolin won his first local Pickleball tournament at the 4.0 level in Bend, Oregon in 2022. Margolin resides in Bend where he plays tennis, pickleball and bikes regularly. Pickleball
Pickleball is an indoor or outdoor racket/paddle sport where two players (singles), or four players (doubles), hit a perforated hollow polymer ball over a net using solid-faced paddles. Opponents on either side of the net hit the ball back and forth until one side commits a rule infraction. Pickleball was invented in 1965 as a children's backyard game on Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA. In 2022, pickleball was adopted as the official state sport of Washington. The appearance of a pickleball court, and the manner of play, resemble tennis, but the court is the size of a doubles badminton court, less than a third the size of a tennis court. The US Open Tennis Championships is a hardcourt tennis tournament held annually in Queens, New York. Stacy Margolin
Stacy Margolin (born April 5, 1959) is a former American professional tennis player in the WTA tour and the ITF world tour from 1979 to 1987 whose career-high world singles ranking is No. 18 (career-high end of season ranking of No. 25 in 1979). In her eight professional seasons, Margolin competed in a total of twenty-five grand slam championships, which includes several appearances at Wimbledon, the US Open, and the French Open. She won a gold medal at the 1977 Maccabiah Games in Israel. Margolin was a talented junior player, competing in numerous national tournaments, including multiple appearances at the Ojai Tennis Tournament.
