Mike Dorsey
Mike Dorsey (1930 – 24 October 2014) was an English-born Australian theatre and television actor and publicity officer and tour manager. Dorsey appeared in the TV series ''The Unloved'', but was best known his television soap opera roles in ''Number 96'' as Reginald "Daddy" McDonald, and ''The Young Doctors'', as Sir Clifford Langley. he also played in the TV series '' Lockie Leonard''. Early life and career Dorsey was born in Yorkshire, England. His acting career began in the late 1940s when he started acting with the Gate Theatre, Dublin, in bit parts. After three years in the army in the early 1950s Dorsey returned to acting, with several minor stage roles on the UK provincial theatre circuit. The scarcity of acting work led to a career change to the publicity business, and Dorsey subsequently did the publicity in London for such performers as Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and The Yardbirds. Wendy Blacklock
Wendy Blacklock AM (born 20 January 1932) is an Australian-born retired theatre actress and theatrical entrepreneur, radio and television actress, comedienne, producer, writer, singer, dancer and choreographer who has appeared in numerous performance roles, both locally and in the United Kingdom, and has been referred to as "The Grand Dame of the Stage". Blacklock started her career in theatre in the early 1950s, and although she started to take small screens roles in the latter 50s, and working on screen until the late 1970s, she remained active in stage roles, her preferred genre for seven decades until the mid-2010s. She founded the theatre company production firm Performing Lines for the Elizabethan Theatre Trust and was instrumental in establishing Aboriginal Australian theatre internationally. Frances Hargreaves (6 January 1955 – 3 March 2017) was an Australian actress, who became famous in the 1970s through her long-running role of Marilyn McDonald in soap opera ''Number 96''. Biography Hargreaves was born in South Africa, of British descent and prior to ''Number 96'' she had studied in London, and began acting on the stage in the UK. After marrying Australian actor and singer David Gilchrist, they settled in Australia in 1973. Their daughter Amelia was born in 1989. In January 1974, Hargreaves scored the role of rebellious Marilyn McDonald at the last-minute when the original actress, Judy McBurney, had to withdraw due to peritonitis after only six episodes. Hargreaves had to re-shoot all of McBurney's scenes. Marilyn was the adopted daughter of Edie and Reg (Mike Dorsey and Wendy Blacklock), whom she always called "Mummy and Daddy".
