Mike Chernoff (curler)
Michael N. Chernoff (born c. 1936) is a Canadian curler and geologist from West Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a and a . Personal life Chernoff has a degree in geological engineering from Queen's University at Kingston. He was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. He is married to Dorine. After graduating from Queens, Chernoff worked as a geologist, conducting field studies across Canada for several oil and gas companies including California Standard, Pinnacle Petroleum, and Ulster Petroleum. He founded Strom Resources in 1979, and sold it to PennWest. He founded Paclata Resources in 1987 with his son Bruce, developing oil and gas operations in a number of different countries. It was sold to Alberta Energy Company in 1999. Kamsack, Saskatchewan
Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada is a town in the Assiniboine River Valley, where the Whitesand River joins the Assiniboine River. It is northeast of Yorkton. Highway 8 and Highway 5 intersect in the town. Coté First Nation is located north and Keeseekoose First Nation is north of Kamsack on Highway 8. History In 1904, land was surrendered from the Coté First Nation for the Canadian Northern Railway station and the town site of Kamsack. Between 1905 and 1907 additional land was allocated, the northern sections of which were returned to Indian reserve status. In 1913 a further two-mile strip of land on the southern boundary was given, but returned in 1915 when it was identified the Coté people had lost too much of their best agricultural land. In 1963, further acres surrendered in 1905 were also reconstituted as reserve land. Brent A. Syme (born October 23, 1956) is a Canadian curler. He is a and a 1986 Labatt Brier champion. He played at the 1988 Winter Olympics when curling was a demonstration sport, Canadian men's team won bronze medal. Syme retired from competitive curling in 1988 due to work commitments. Neil William "Woody" Houston (born January 19, 1957) is a Canadian curler. He is a and a 1986 Labatt Brier champion. He played at the 1988 Winter Olympics when curling was a demonstration sport, Canadian men's team won bronze medal. During the early 1990s, Houston worked in sports facility management in Leduc, Whitecourt and Fort Saskatchewan. In 1995, Houston moved to Ottawa where he worked for the Canadian Curling Association as director of domestic development. Lukowich is a two-time Brier champion, having won the Brier Tankard for Alberta as skip of both the 1978 and 1986 Canadian championship teams. Fred Storey
Frederick Lewis Storey (March 3, 1932 – December 2, 2019) was a Canadian curler from Calgary. He won three World Curling Championships and three Brier Championships playing as lead on the Ron Northcott rink. Storey grew up in Empress, Alberta and moved to Calgary in high school, and won a provincial school boys title for Mount Royal in 1951, and finished runner up at that year's school boy championship (now the Canadian Junior Curling Championships) playing for the Bob Harper rink.
