Michael Shane Campbell (born 23 February 1969) is a New Zealand professional golfer who is best known for having won the 2005 U.S. Open and, at the time, the richest prize in golf, the £1,000,000 HSBC World Match Play Championship, in the same year. He played on the European Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia. Early life, amateur career Campbell was born in Hāwera, Taranaki. Ethnically, he is predominantly Māori, from the Ngāti Ruanui (father's side) and Ngā Rauru (mother's side) iwi. He also has some Scottish ancestry, being a great-great-great-grandson of John Logan Campbell, a Scottish emigrant to New Zealand. Michael Thomas Campbell (born February 17, 1964) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He was picked in the first round (7th overall) by the Seattle Mariners in the 1985 Major League Baseball Draft, out of the University of Hawaii. He attended West Seattle High School and Newport High School in Bellevue Wa. Campbell was named Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player in 1987 while coming up through the Mariners system with the Calgary Cannons before his MLB debut that same year. After making his major league debut on July 4, 1987, Campbell was in and out of the Mariners rotation from 1987 to 1989. During the 1989 season he was traded to the Montreal Expos along with Mark Langston in a 5 player deal in which the Mariners received Randy Johnson, Brian Holman and Gene Harris. Michael Gregory Campbell OSA (born 2 October 1941) is an Augustinian friar and biblical scholar. He is a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, who served as the Bishop of Lancaster in England from 2009 to 2018. Life Campbell was born in Larne, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland, in 1941 and entered the Order of St. Augustine around 1960. He was educated at University College, Dublin (BA) and King's College London (MA Biblical Studies). High school and college career Campbell was born in Brooklyn, New York and played at Manhattan Park West High School in New York City. He went on to play at the Westchester Community College. Mathew "Mike" Campbell (c. 1850 – January 12, 1926) was an Irish-born professional baseball player at the beginning of the professional era, primarily with teams in northern New Jersey. Amateur career 1866 Campbell and his older brother Hugh Campbell joined the Irvington club of Irvington, New Jersey, for the 1866 season. The Irvingtons were a new member of the National Association of Base Ball Players, and a "country club" in that Irvington was still outside the growing metropolis.
