Mike Bratz

	Mike Bratz Michael Louis Bratz (born October 17, 1955) is a retired American basketball player and former the assistant general manager for the Sacramento Kings. He played professionally in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, and Sacramento Kings. Early life and career Bratz was born in Lompoc, California and graduated from Lompoc High School. He played college basketball at Allan Hancock College and Stanford University. After being selected by the Phoenix Suns in the 1977 NBA Draft, and made his NBA debut on October 18, 1977 with the Suns. Bratz played nine seasons in the NBA. He is famous for being the last Bulls player to wear number 23 prior to Michael Jordan. Referencing his time wearing number 23 while with the Bulls, Bratz appeared in a commercial for the Chicago area sports bar Candlelite in 2008. picture info	Lompoc, California Lompoc ( ; Chumash: ''Lum Poc'') is a city in Santa Barbara County, California. Located on the Central Coast, Lompoc has a population of 43,834 as of July 2021. Lompoc has been inhabited for thousands of years by the Chumash people, who called the area Lum Poc, meaning "stagnant waters" or "lagoon" in the local Purisimeño language. picture info	1977 NBA Draft The 1977 NBA draft was the 31st annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on June 10, 1977, before the 1977–78 season. In this draft, 22 NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. The first two picks in the draft belonged to the teams that finished last in each conference, with the order determined by a coin flip. The Milwaukee Bucks won the coin flip and were awarded the first overall pick, while the Kansas City Kings, who obtained the New York Nets first-round pick in a trade, were awarded the second pick. The remaining first-round picks and the subsequent rounds were assigned to teams in reverse order of their win–loss record in the previous season. 	1985–86 Sacramento Kings Season The 1985–86 NBA season was the Kings' 37th season in the NBA and first in Sacramento following its relocation from Kansas City. The Kings played their home games at the original ARCO Arena, and finished the season with a record of 37 wins and 45 losses, placing them fifth in the Midwest Division and seventh in the Western Conference. They made the playoffs, but were quickly eliminated in the first round in three straight games by the eventual Western Conference champion Houston Rockets. On April 16, 1985, the NBA board of governors voted 22–0 for the Kings to be relocated to Sacramento. They moved into the first ARCO Arena, their temporary home for three seasons. The team performed preseason workouts at Yuba College. Sacramento did not start the season well, having a 9–22 record on December 31, the worst in the Western Conference. 	1979–80 Phoenix Suns Season The 1979–80 Phoenix Suns season was the 12th season for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association and at 55–27, the team's best regular season record since the franchise's inception. The Suns defeated Western Conference foe Kansas City in the opening round of the playoffs, marking the first time the Suns had won a playoff series in back-to-back seasons. In the Western Conference semifinals, the Suns would lose to the Pacific-winning Los Angeles Lakers, who later went on to win the season's championship. The Suns were led by head coach John MacLeod, his seventh season with the team, and played all home games in Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Paul Westphal led the Suns in scoring with a 21.9 point-per-game average and earned All-NBA First Team honors, while Walter Davis was second in team scoring with a 21.5 average.
