Miguel Alemán González
Miguel Alemán González (1884 – March 20, 1929) was a Mexican general who served in the Mexican Revolution. Early life Miguel Alemán González was born in 1884. Military career Alemán González was a pioneer of the Mexican Revolution in the state of Veracruz. Alemán González took up arms again in 1927. He spearheaded a movement of armed resistance against presidents Álvaro Obregón and Plutarco Elías Calles. Death and legacy Alemán González died on March 20, 1929 in San Juan Evangelista. He either committed suicide, or he was burned alive as General Miguel Acosta set fire to the forest where he was hiding during a battle. He was buried in Sayula de Alemán on March 25, 1937. Miguel Alemán Valdés (; 29 September 1900 – 14 May 1983) was a Mexican politician who served a full term as the President of Mexico from 1946 to 1952, the first civilian president after a string of revolutionary generals. His administration was characterized by Mexico's rapid industrialization, often called the Mexican Miracle, but also for a high level of personal enrichment for himself and his associates. Miguel Alemán Velasco (born 18 March 1932 in Veracruz) is a Mexican politician, businessman and philanthropist. He is a former senator and governor of Veracruz. Alemán Velasco is the son of former Mexican president Miguel Alemán Valdés (1946–52), the first candidate to run for the presidency from the Institutional Revolutionary Party and first civilian president in the modern era, and Beatriz Velasco Mendoza. Miguel Alemán Magnani was the president and CEO of Mexican airline Interjet. Viaducto Miguel Alemán is a crosstown freeway, opened in September 1950, that runs east-west across central Mexico City. In the center of the road is a river encased in cement to control flooding. Metro Viaducto is named after this road. The encased duct that is contained at the center of the freeway carries water from the west-city hillsides, specifically from the Tacubaya and Becerra rivers. Lake Miguel Alemán is in the Papaloapan Region of northern Oaxaca state, Mexico. Miguel Alemán Dam
The Miguel Alemán Dam is on the Tonto River in the Papaloapan Region of Oaxaca state in southern Mexico, just upstream from the town of Temascal or Nuevo Soyaltepec, forming the Miguel Alemán Lake with an area of 47,800 hectares. The dam operates in conjunction with the Cerro de Oro Dam, located on the Santo Domingo River to control floods in the Papaloapan basin in Veracruz state. Together with the 22,000 hectare reservoir of the Cerro de Oro, which is joined by a channel to the Miguel Alemán Lake, the combined capacity is 13,380 million cubic metres. The lake formed by the dam is scenic, providing income from fishing and tourism. The northwestern shore and islands have been declared a nature reserve.
