''Midtown Madness'' (also known as ''Midtown Madness: Chicago Edition'') is a 1999 racing game developed by Angel Studios and published by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows. The demo version was released in April 1999. Two sequels followed, with '' Midtown Madness 2'' released in September 2000 and ''Midtown Madness 3'' released in June 2003 for the Xbox. The game is set in Chicago; the object is for the player to win street races and obtain new cars. Unlike racing games that restrict the player to a race track, ''Midtown Madness'' offers an open world recreation of Chicago. This setting was said to provide "an unprecedented degree of freedom to drive around in a virtual city". Players can explore the city using one of several modes and can determine the weather and traffic conditions for each race. ''Midtown Madness 3'' is a 2003 open world racing video game developed by Digital Illusions CE and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox. It is the third and currently final game in the ''Midtown Madness'' series. A version for mobile phones was developed by In-Fusio and released in 2004. This marked a change from the developer of the first two games, Angel Studios, which had moved on to work on the ''Midnight Club'' series. The Xbox-exclusive console release and change of developer heralded a significant graphical improvement to maintain the console's graphical standards. Like the first sequel, the game features two major cities in which events take place; Paris and Washington, D.C. Here players can compete in a variety of race types and take on roles such as taxi and ambulance drivers. Online modes were available via Xbox Live. Freightliner Century Class
The Freightliner Century Class is an aerodynamic sloped-hood conventional Class 8 truck that was produced by American truck manufacturer Freightliner. It was introduced in 1995 (as a 1996 model) to replace the FLD series, although the FLD remained in production through the 2001 model year. The Century Class was renamed Century Class S/T (which stood for Safety and Technology) for the 2000 model year. The S/T package added a driver's side air bag and improved seat mounting restraints.
