The stream flows generally south-southeast passing about west of Fulton and passes under US Route 54 southwest of Fulton. Callaway County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 United States Census, the county's population was 44,283. Its county seat is Fulton. With a border formed by the Missouri River, the county was organized November 25, 1820, and named for Captain James Callaway, grandson of Daniel Boone. The county has been historically referred to as "The Kingdom of Callaway" after an incident in which some residents confronted Union troops during the U.S. Civil War. Millersburg, Missouri
Millersburg is an unincorporated community in Callaway County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is located near the Boone-Callaway county line on the Owl Creek tributary of Cedar Creek. The Little Dixie Lake and Little Dixie Wildlife Management Area lie on Owl Creek just north of the community. It is on Missouri Route J about four miles south of I-70. History Millersburg is one of the oldest settlements in Callaway County to be established after Missouri statehood in 1821, and was located along the southernmost historic "Boone's Lick" trail route of about 1826. Millersburg was platted in 1829. The community derives its name from Thomas Miller, a pioneer settler from Kentucky. Fulton is the largest city in and the county seat of Callaway County, Missouri, United States. Located about northeast of Jefferson City and the Missouri River and east of Columbia, the city is part of the Jefferson City, Missouri, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tebbetts is an unincorporated community in southern Callaway County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Jefferson City, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mokane, Missouri
Mokane is a small city in southern Callaway County, Missouri, United States. The population was 185 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jefferson City Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The settlement was first named Smith's Landing, after Thomas Smith, who settled there around 1818, and is said to be the second- or third-oldest town in Callaway County. The settlement later took on the name Saint Aubert around the time a post office was built there in 1849. Official Callaway County maps of 1876 show St. Aubert, which was also the name of its township area.
