Microwave is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They have supported bands such as The Wonder Years, letlive., Have Mercy, Man Overboard, Tiny Moving Parts, Motion City Soundtrack, Jimmy Eat World, Can't Swim, The Dangerous Summer, and Boston Manor. They are currently signed to Pure Noise Records. History 2012-2013: Formation and early releases Microwave formed in Woodstock, Georgia in 2012. The group released their first and second EPs, ''Nowhere Feels Like Home'' and ''Swine Driver'', on January 10 and March 30, 2013. Their third EP ''When the Fever Breaks'' was released on September 17, 2013. 2014-2018: ''Stovall'' and ''Much Love'' Microwave released their first full-length album ''Stovall'' on August 23, 2014. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Post-hardcore began in the 1980s with bands like Hüsker Dü and Minutemen (band), Minutemen. The genre expanded in the 1980s and 1990s with releases by bands from cities that had established hardcore scenes, such as Fugazi from Washington, D.C. as well as groups such as Big Black and Jawbox that stuck closer to post-hardcore's noise rock roots. The Dangerous Summer is an American rock band from Ellicott City, Maryland, United States. The band's name is taken from the book of the same name by Ernest Hemingway. The band has stated influences from Third Eye Blind, Bright Eyes, U2, Phil Collins, Explosions in the Sky, Jimmy Eat World, and Andrew McMahon. Over the years the band has sold over 60,000 albums and over 300,000 singles. Sublime (band)
Sublime was an American reggae rock and ska punk band from Long Beach, California, formed in 1988. The band's line-up, consistent throughout its duration, consisted of Bradley Nowell (vocals and guitar), Eric Wilson (bass), and Bud Gaugh (drums). Lou Dog, Nowell's dalmatian, was the mascot of the band. Nowell died of a heroin overdose in 1996, resulting in the band's breakup. "Santeria" is a ballad by American ska punk band Sublime from their third, self-titled album (1996). The song was released as a single on January 7, 1997. Although the song was released after the death of lead singer Bradley Nowell, "Santeria" along with " What I Got" are often considered the band's signature songs. Composition and context The song includes the bassline and guitar riff from Sublime's earlier song "Lincoln Highway Dub" off the 1994 album ''Robbin' the Hood''. Drug Church
Drug Church is an American post-hardcore band from Albany, New York, United States. The band has released four albums, as well as several EPs. History Drug Church started as a side project for singer Patrick Kindlon of Self Defense Family. After having released a three-song demo online in 2011, the band got signed by No Sleep Records by the beginning of 2012.
