Michigan's 30th Senate District
Michigan's 30th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 30th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Mark Huizenga since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Roger Victory. By most measures it is the most Republican-leaning district in the Senate. Georgetown Charter Township is a charter township of Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 46,985 at the time of the 2010 census. The Michigan Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan. It is based in Lansing. Lavora Barnes is the party's current chair. She was previously the party's Chief Operating Officer. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Its composition, powers and duties are established in Article IV of the Michigan Constitution. Members are elected in even-numbered years and take office at 12 p.m. (EST) on January 1 following the November general election. Holland is a city in the western region of the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan on Lake Macatawa, which is fed by the Macatawa River (formerly known locally as the Black River). Spring Lake Township is a civil township of Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 13,140 according to the 2000 census and 14,300 according to the 2010 census. The village of Spring Lake is located within the township. The city of Ferrysburg is south of the township bordering Lake Michigan, the Grand River and Spring Lake.
