Michigan's 22nd Senate District
Michigan's 22nd Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 22nd district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Lana Theis since 2019, succeeding fellow Republican Joe Hune. Geography District 22 encompasses all of Livingston County, as well as part of Genesee, Ingham, and Shiawassee counties. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 22, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, covered all of Livingston County and most of western Washtenaw County in exurban Detroit, including the communities of Brighton, Howell, Fowlerville, Whitmore Lake, Chelsea, Dexter, Brighton Township, Genoa Township, Green Oak Township, Hamburg Township, Hartland Township, Oceola Township, Tyrone Township, Marion Township, and Scio Township. Whitmore Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community spans the boundary between Green Oak Township in Livingston County and Northfield Township in Washtenaw County. The population of the CDP was 6,423 at the 2010 census. The community is located about north of Ann Arbor and about south of Brighton. It is situated around the shores of Whitmore Lake, and the CDP also includes the area around the smaller Horseshoe Lake to the south, Lawton Lake to the east and Monahan Lake to the northeast. Michigan's 7th Congressional District
Michigan's 7th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Southern Michigan and portions of Central Michigan. From 2004 to 2013 it consisted of all of Branch, Eaton, Hillsdale, Jackson, and Lenawee counties, and included most of Calhoun and a large portion of western and northern Washtenaw counties. The current district, which was created in 2022, is centered around Lansing, Michigan's state capital, and includes all of Clinton, Shiawassee, Ingham, and Livingston counties, as well as portions of Eaton and Oakland counties. Michigan's 8th Congressional District
Michigan's 8th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Southern Michigan and Southeast Michigan, including almost all of the state capital, Lansing. From 2003 to 2013, it consisted of all of Clinton, Ingham, and Livingston counties, and included the southern portion of Shiawassee and the northern portion of Oakland counties. After the redistricting that resulted from the 2010 Census, the district was shifted south to no longer cover Clinton or Shiawassee counties and instead covers more of Oakland County, including Rochester. The district was first created in 1873, after redistricting following the 1870 census. Scio Township is a civil township of Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 20,081 at the 2010 census. Communities * Delhi Mills is an unincorporated community located within the township at . The community was first platted in 1836 by Jacob Doremus under the name Michigan Village. It was soon known as Delhi. In 1842, all unsold plots of land were bought by Norman Goodale, who founded the Delhi Mills company.
