Michie Nakatani
(born October 8, 1961) is a Japanese retired musician, best known as one of the founding members of the Japanese pop-punk band Shonen Knife. Biography Nakatani was born in Osaka, Japan, the only child of a homemaker mother and an accountant father. She met future bandmate Naoko Yamano in college, and she spent some time working as a cartoonist's assistant. Nakatani and Yamano formed Shonen Knife in 1981, with Nakatani on bass, keyboards, and occasional lead vocals. Isaac Adamson, born in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1971, is the American author of a series of mystery novels set in Japan and featuring journalist and amateur detective Billy Chaka. Biography After graduating from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Adamson attended UCLA briefly before graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Film Studies. While at UCLA, he was a member of the 1990 NCAA National Championship team. Adamson's first novel, ''Tokyo Suckerpunch'', was to be made into a film by Sony Pictures Entertainment, starring Tobey Maguire in the role of Billy Chaka. Shonen Knife
Shonen Knife is a Japanese pop-punk band formed in Osaka in 1981. Influenced by 1960s girl groups, pop bands, the Beach Boys, and early punk rock bands such as the Ramones, the band crafts stripped-down songs with simple yet unconventional lyrics sung both in Japanese and English. Redd Kross is an American rock band from Hawthorne, California, who had their roots in 1978 in a punk rock band called the Tourists, which was started by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald while Steve was still in middle school. With the addition of friends Greg Hetson and John Stielow on drums, the band's first gig was opening for Black Flag. The band has since released seven albums and three EPs. Career Red Cross In April 1979, the band had their first practice in the living room of original drummer, John Stielow's parent's living room. The first song they played was 'Annette's Got the Hits'.
