Michel Lévêque
Michel Lévêque (born 19 July 1933, in Algiers, Algeria) is a French diplomat and politician. From 1997 to 2000 he was minister of state for Monaco. He was the French ambassador to Libya (1985–1989), Morocco (1991–1993), Brazil (1993–1994) and Algeria (1995–1997). The Prime Minister, literally the Minister of State ( French: ''Ministre d'État''), is the head of government of Monaco, being appointed by and subordinate to the Prince of Monaco. During their term of office, the officeholder is responsible for directing the work of the Monegasque government and is in charge of foreign relations. Rainier III (Rainier Louis Henri Maxence Bertrand Grimaldi; 31 May 1923 – 6 April 2005) was Prince of Monaco from 1949 to his death in 2005. Rainier ruled the Principality of Monaco for almost 56 years, making him one of the longest-ruling monarchs in European history.
