Michalis Tsairelis
Michalis Tsairelis (alternate spellings: Michail, Michailis, Mihalis) (Greek: Μιχάλης Τσαϊρέλης; born February 23, 1988) is a Greek professional basketball player for Promitheas Patras of the Greek Basket League and the EuroCup. He is a 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in) tall power forward-center. Professional career After playing with the Apollon Kalamarias in the Greek minors, during the 2006–07 season, Tsairelis began his professional career with Aris, in the Greek Basket League, during the 2007–08 season. He spent the 2008–09 season with AEL 1964, and the 2009–10 season with Trikala 2000. He then returned to Aris for the next two seasons, before joining PAOK in 2012. He then moved to the Spanish League club Canarias in 2014. He joined the Greek EuroLeague club Olympiacos in February 2015. On August 5, 2016, Tsairelis signed a two-year contract with Aris. 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification (Europe)
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in August 2017 and concluded in February 2019. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed into the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations had to participate in qualification. Format FIBA Europe was allocated 12 berths at the World Cup. In total, 37 FIBA Europe teams took part in the qualification tournament. The qualification consisted of the following stages: * Pre-Qualifiers: 13 teams that did not participate in EuroBasket 2017 took part. Eight teams had qualified for the first round. Greece National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Giannis Bourousis (Greek: Γιάννης Μπουρούσης; born November 17, 1983) is a former Greek professional basketball player who last played for ASK Karditsa of the Greek A2 Basket League. He is a 7 ft 0.75 in (2.15 m) 270 lb (122 kg) tall center. A two-time All-EuroLeague First Team selection, Bourousis has been compared to FIBA Hall of Fame center Vlade Divac by San Antonio Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich.
