Michael Wisher
Michael Wisher (19 May 1935 – 21 July 1995) was an English actor. He made many appearances in ''Doctor Who'', becoming best known for his performance in ''Genesis of the Daleks'' (1975) as the first actor to play Davros, the wheelchair-using scientific mastermind and creator of the Daleks. Career A regular actor in television drama from the 1960s onwards, he appeared in programmes such as ''Z-Cars'', ''Dixon of Dock Green'', ''Moonbase 3'' and ''Colditz''. His theatre work was also extensive (and included a lengthy tour of New Zealand). ''Doctor Who'' roles Wisher is remembered for many different roles in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. His contributions began with uncredited voice work in the Second Doctor serial ''The Seeds of Death'' (1969). The director of that story, Michael Ferguson, later asked Wisher to play reporter John Wakefield in the Third Doctor serial ''The Ambassadors of Death'' (1970). ''Doctor Who'' is a British science fiction television series broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The series depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The TARDIS exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations, and helps people in need. Michael Ferguson (14 June 1937 – 4 October 2021) was a British television director and producer. His early career included directing four serials of the BBC's science fiction series ''Doctor Who'' (1966–1971). He later directed ITV's police drama series ''The Bill'' and was promoted to become its producer (1988–1989), and as executive producer of the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' (1989–1991) he was responsible for the introduction of two of its most popular and long-running characters, Phil and Grant Mitchell. He then produced the BBC medical drama series ''Casualty'' (1993–1994). Early life Ferguson was educated at King's College School in Wimbledon. Audio Visuals
The Audio Visuals were an unlicensed series of ''Doctor Who'' audio dramas made by British fans in the 1980s. Featuring Nicholas Briggs as the Doctor, twenty-eight audio plays were recorded and distributed on audio cassette between 1985 and 1991 (a pilot, in which the Doctor was voiced by Stephen Payne, was recorded at Chris Corney's house in Hamble near Southampton in 1984). The first three seasons (released 1985-1988) were produced by Bill Baggs, and the fourth and final season (1989–1991) by Gary Russell. Although the Audio Visuals audios were a violation of copyright, the BBC chose to look the other way. Gary Russell later told an interviewer, :"We were fans doing some stuff for a handful of people. The Fourth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He is portrayed by Tom Baker.
