Michael Wallis (born October 7, 1945) is an American journalist, popular historian, author and speaker. He has written seventeen books,Danna Sue Walker"Award-winning author speaks to library backers" ''Tulsa World'', March 7, 2010. including ''Route 66: The Mother Road'', about the historic highway U.S. Route 66. His work has also been published extensively in magazines and newspapers, including ''Time'', ''Life'', ''People'', ''Smithsonian'', ''The New Yorker'', and ''The New York Times''. Awards and honors Wallis has received the John Steinbeck Award, the Arrell Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Oklahoma Center for the Book, the Will Rogers Spirit Award, and the Western Heritage Award from the National Cowboy Hall & Western Heritage Museum. Radiator Springs Racers is slot car ride in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. The attraction features a third-generation version of transport technology originally developed for the Test Track attraction at Epcot in Walt Disney World. It was created by JM Production, and debuted shortly after the cancellation of their earlier game show ''Starcade''. ''The Video Game'' was taped at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park. Greg Winfield hosted, Karen Lea modeled, and Christopher Kriesa announced. Gameplay To begin, two contestants were called down from the audience. ''Cars Toons'' is a television series of American computer-animated short films produced by Pixar. It features the main characters Lightning McQueen and Mater from Pixar's ''Cars'' franchise non-canonically in the original plot. Larry the Cable Guy reprises his role as Mater while Keith Ferguson replaces Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen until ''The Radiator Springs 500 ½'', when Wilson reprises his role. ''Mater and the Ghostlight'' is a 2006 American computer-animated short film released as a special feature on the DVD of Pixar's film ''Cars'', which was released in the United States on November 7, 2006. The short, set in the ''Cars'' world, tells a story of Mater being haunted by a mysterious blue light. Plot The short opens with Mater pranking the other residents of Radiator Springs by moving Red's flowers, bursting out from a pile of tires (built to resemble the Colosseum) to startle Guido and Luigi, dressing up as a cone vampire to scare Sally, attempting to scare Lizzie while she is sleeping (which is unsuccessful), moving Fillmore's gas cans back outside while he takes them in and finally scaring Lightning McQueen when he believes Mater is hiding behind a pile of cans ready to jump out (what was really behind the pile of cans was one of Mater's signs).
