Michael Sacher (born 1 September 1964) is a German politician from Alliance 90/The Greens. Early life Sacher was born in Dortmund and worked as a bookseller before entering politics. Political career In the 2021 German federal election, he contested Unna I but was not elected. In 2022, he entered the Bundestag, taking the seat of Oliver Krischer who resigned to join the Second Wüst cabinet. Alliance 90/The Greens (german: Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, ), often simply referred to as the Greens ( ), is a Green politics, green List of political parties in Germany, political party in Germany. It was formed in 1993 as the merger of The Greens (formed in West Germany in 1980) and Alliance 90 (formed in East Germany in 1990). Unna I is an electoral constituency (German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Oliver Krischer (born 26 July 1969) is a German politician of the Alliance '90/The Greens who has been serving as State Minister for Environment, Nature Protection, and Transport in the government of Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst since 2022. From 2021 to 2022, Krischer briefly served as Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in the coalition government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz since 2021.
