Michael Rodríguez (footballer)
Michael Steven Rodríguez Gutiérrez (born 30 December 1981) is a Costa Rican former footballer who most recently played for the National Premier Soccer League club Puerto Rico Bayamón. Club career Until recently, Rodríguez played club football for Alajuelense. In June 2008, he signed with the Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division in the United States. He currently has not played for the club, as he is awaiting his P1 Visa. On 24 June, Rodríguez made his debut for the Sounders in a match against Hollywood United F.C. in the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In January 2010 he joined Pérez Zeledón. In October 2012, Rodríguez moved abroad to play for Indian outfit United Sikkim but he returned in June 2013 to play for Pérez Zeledón. In September 2014 he was denied a work permit by the United States to play for Puerto Rican side Puerto Rico Bayamón after playing for them in the CONCACAF Champions League. Alajuela (canton)
Alajuela is a canton in the Alajuela province of Costa Rica. Its head city is the provincial capital city of Alajuela. History Alajuela was created on 7 December 1848 by decree 167. Geography Alajuela has an area of km² and a mean elevation of metres. Northward from the city of Alajuela, the canton continues along the border with the province of Heredia to its east, encompassing a strip of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range) between Poas Volcano and Barva Volcano. On the Caribbean side of the mountains, the canton takes in a portion of the Sarapiquí area. The Río Poás (Poas River) forms the major portion of the canton's western border, finally giving way to the Río Poasito as the territory ascends into the Cordillera Central. The 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship took place in Argentina between 17 June and 8 July 2001. The 2001 championship was the 13th contested. The tournament took part in six cities, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, Rosario, Salta, and Mar del Plata. The Golden Boot was won by Javier Saviola of Argentina who scored 11 goals. The Ukraine national football team ( uk, Збірна України з футболу) represents Ukraine in men's international football and is governed by the Ukrainian Association of Football, the governing body for football in Ukraine. The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which had won the right to host the event in July 2000. Teams representing 198 national football associations from all six populated continents participated in the qualification process which began in September 2003. Thirty-one teams qualified from this process along with hosts Germany for the finals tournament.
