Michael Kenny (sculptor)
Michael Kenny (1941 – 28 December 1999) was a British artist. Best known as a sculptor, he also made important reliefs and drawings as well as sculptural constructions in wood and metal. Brief Biography Having studied at Liverpool College of Art and then Slade School of Fine Art, Kenny taught at Slade 1970-1982 and at Goldsmiths School of Art 1983–88. He was made a Royal Academician in 1986 and completed many public commissions and exhibitions including retrospectives at Wilhelm-Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg (1984), Hansard Gallery in Southampton (1990), and Dulwich Picture Gallery (1994) following a residency there from 1992 to 1993. He died on 28 December 1999. He is buried on the eastern side of Highgate Cemetery in London. Michael Hughes Kenny
Michael Hughes Kenny (June 26, 1937 – February 19, 1995) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Juneau in Alaska from 1979 to 1995. Biography Michael Kenny was born in Hollywood, California, on June 26, 1937. He was ordained into the priesthood for the Diocese of Santa Rosa by Bishop Leo Thomas Maher on March 30, 1963. On March 22, 1979, Pope John Paul II named Kenny the third bishop of the Diocese of Juneau. He was consecrated by the pope on May 27, 1979. His co-consecrators were Archbishops Duraisamy Lourdusamy and Eduardo Somalo. Michael Kenny died in Palestine of a brain aneurysm on February 19, 1995. He was later buried in Juneau. Mick Kenny (Galway Hurler)
Michael Kenny (1893 – 25 June 1959) was an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder for the Galway senior team from 1922 until 1924. Kenny made his first appearance for the team during the 1921 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for the next three seasons. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal. An All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion, Kenny captained Galway to their first All-Ireland title in 1923. At club level Kenny was a five-time county club championship medalist with Tynagh. Playing career Club Kenny played his club hurling with Tynagh and enjoyed much success during a lengthy career. After losing back-to-back championship deciders in 1918 and 1919, Tynagh qualified for a third successive county final in 1920. A defeat of Kilconieron gave Kenny his first championship medal. Mike Kenny, Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, MBE (born 30 January 1945) is a retired British swimmer. He won 16 gold medals and two silvers over four Paralympic Games, making him the second most successful Great Britain at the Paralympics, British Paralympian of all time.
