Michael Heisler
Mike Heisler is an American comic book writer known for his work on the series ''DV8'' and ''Union''. He also penned the Gen¹³ mini-series ''Gen¹³: Interactive'' and the one-shot ''Gen¹³: The Unreal World''. Heisler got his start in the industry in the late 1980s as a letterer, primarily for Marvel Comics. From there, he moved into writing and editing. In December 2009, Heisler was announced as the editor of a revived version of the landmark monster movie magazine ''Famous Monsters of Filmland''. IDW Press Release (December 7, 2009). Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. ''Gen¹³'' is a superhero team and comic book series originally written by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi and illustrated by J. Scott Campbell. It was published by WildStorm under the Image Comics banner, which went on to become an imprint (trade name), imprint for DC Comics, who continued publishing the ''Gen¹³'' title. The comic features a loosely organized team of super-powered beings composed of five adolescence, teens and their mentor. Letterer
A letterer is a member of a team of comic book creators responsible for drawing the comic book's text. The letterer's use of typefaces, calligraphy, letter size, and layout all contribute to the impact of the comic. The letterer crafts the comic's "display lettering": the story title lettering and other special captions and credits that usually appear on a story's first page. The letterer also writes the letters in the word balloons and draws in sound effects. Many letterers also design logos for the comic book company's various titles.
