Michael C. Thompson
Michael C. Thompson is a retired United States General Officer and Oklahoma Army National Guard member who served as the 21st Adjutant General of Oklahoma from 2017 to 2021. He was a Major General in the United States Army National Guard and was a member of the Oklahoma Governor's Cabinet. Thompson previously served concurrently as the Oklahoma Secretary of Safety and Security and the Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. In his capacity as Public Safety Commissioner, Thompson also was in charge of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. As Safety and Security secretary, he was a member of the Oklahoma Governor's Cabinet and was responsible for directing all state public safety, law enforcement and corrections agencies. The Adjutant General of Oklahoma is the highest-ranking military official in the state of Oklahoma, subordinate only to the Governor of Oklahoma. The highest officer of the Oklahoma National Guard, the Adjutant General is the principal advisor to the Governor on military affairs and the head of the Oklahoma Military Department as the Secretary of the Military. Combat Infantry Badge
The Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) is a United States Army military decoration. The badge is awarded to infantrymen and Special Forces soldiers in the rank of colonel and below, who fought in active ground combat while assigned as members of either an Infantry or Special Forces unit of brigade size or smaller at any time after 6 December 1941. For those soldiers who are not members of an infantry, or Special Forces unit, the Combat Action Badge (CAB) is awarded instead. 279th Infantry Regiment (United States)
The 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry Regiment is headquartered in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. It is a part of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma Army National Guard. 90th Troop Command
The 90th Troop Command is a brigade equivalent organization of the United States Army headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is a part of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
