Michael Baur
Michael Baur (born 16 April 1969) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Club career Born in Innsbruck, Baur started his career with Tirol Innsbruck and played 12 seasons for them, winning four league titles and a domestic cup. In 1997, he went for a short break to Japan and also played a season in the German Bundesliga for Hamburger SV. At 34 years of age, he signed for SV Pasching and after another four seasons there he decided to make another move and switched to LASK Linz. FC Wacker Innsbruck was an Austrian association football club from Innsbruck, Tyrol. History The ''Fußball-Club Wacker'' ("Valiant") ''Innsbruck'' was established in 1915 by Jakob Hanspeter, Benedikt Hosp, Josef Leitner, Josef Albrecht and other now unknown football enthusiasts and adopted club colours of black and green. After a few years playing friendlies against other Innsbruck sides, the club was put on hiatus until 1918 because of the interruption of the First World War. In 1964 the club participated the first time in Austria's A-Liga, today's Bundesliga, winning its first championship in 1971. On 20 July 1971, FC Wacker Innsbruck and SV Wattens, also playing in Austrian first division, merged to form a single team called ''SpG Swarovski Wattens-Innsbruck'' (SSW Innsbruck) in order to focus the football power of Tyrol better. The Austrian Cup (german: ÖFB-Cup), known as UNIQA ÖFB Cup for sponsorship purposes, is an annual football competition held by the Austrian Football Association, the ÖFB. During the 2008–09 season, Austria Wien won the tournament for 27th time, a record. Red Bull Salzburg are the current holders, winning the 2021-2022 tournament, making it their 8th successive win in the tournament and their 9th overall. Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub, commonly known as Linzer ASK () or simply LASK, is an Austrian professional Football team, football club, from the Upper Austria, Upper-Austrian state capital Linz.
