Luciano Micallef is a Maltese born abstract artist. He is one of most famous in Malta for abstract art & has multiple paintings all over the island. Early life He was born in Birkirkara, Malta on 1 November 1954. At age 10, he started studying art privately under Maltese artist Guzeppi Briffa, He later attended the Malta School of Art. Andrew Micallef (born 7 February 1969) is a Maltese painter and musician. He is known for his highly detailed paintings of Maltese flora and fauna, landscapes, seascapes and architecture. He has held numerous solo exhibitions, and has also illustrated books and designed stamps. He is also a professional chromatic button accordion player. John Micallef (1923–2003) was a Maltese philosopher. Although his thoughts remained philosophically grounded in the Christian tradition, he was primarily interested in Existentialism. Life Micallef was born in Victoria, Gozo, one of Malta's subsidiary islands, in 1923. After completing his studies at the Lyceum in Malta, he continued studying at the Gregorian University of Rome. Ian Micallef (born 6 September 1969, Gzira, Malta) is the former President of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the Congress of the Council of Europe. He was elected to that position in May 2006 and re-elected on 27 May 2008 for a two-year period; he was also Acting President of the Congress from December 2008 to October 2010. A specialist in European law, Micallef served as a municipal councillor for Gzira, in Malta, between 1994 and 2012; he acted as Chair of the Association of Local Councils of Malta between 1996 and 2012. Constantinous "Tarki" Micallef (born 24 January 1961) is a Welsh former professional footballer. Career The son of a Greek restaurateur, Micallef was born in the Grangetown area of Cardiff and was a Welsh schoolboy international before joining Cardiff City as a trainee, working his way up to the first team. Firelight is a pop/folk-band founded in 2013 by vocalist Richard Edwards Micallef in Malta. Michelle Mifsud (vocals and piano), Wayne Williams (vocals, keys and guitar) and Daniel (guitars) are all Richard's siblings. The band is completed by Tony Polidano (bass) and Leslie Decesare (drums). Firelight's style is a mix of pop, rock, country and folk. Richard plays the Appalachian dulcimer, an American traditional instrument related to the European zither.
