Miami East High School
Miami East High School is a public high school in Casstown, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Miami East Local Schools district. Their mascot is a Viking. There is also the Miami East Junior High School and Elementary building (k-8) next to the high school. History Miami East High School was created in 1959 with the combining of local area high schools including Miami Central, Brown Township, Elizabeth Township, Staunton Township and Lost Creek Township. The combined K-5 and Junior High 6-8 building was completed in 2004, dissolving the old Miami East Junior High 7-8 (Staunton Township Building), Miami East Intermediate 5-6 (Lost Creek Township/Casstown Building), Miami East South Elementary K-4 (Elizabeth Township Building) and Miami East North K-4 (Fletcher Building). Casstown is a village in Miami County, Ohio, United States. The population was 267 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Casstown was originally called Trimmensburgh, and under the latter name was laid out in 1832 by one Mr. Trimmens, and named for him. The present name honors Lewis Cass, an American military officer, politician, and statesman. A post office called Casstown has been in operation since 1846. Softball
Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. Charles Richard McKinney (born November 22, 1946) is an American former professional baseball player. He played all or part of seven seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) between and . Originally an infielder when he came up with the Chicago White Sox, he became more of a utility player as his career progressed. Chicago White Sox After playing college baseball at Ohio University, McKinney was selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 1968 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago White Sox.
