Mi Ultima Cancion
''Mi Ultima Cancion'' (''My Last Song'') is both an album and a song by Peruvian singer Lucha Reyes. Both were released on the FTA (Fabricantes Técnicos Asociados) label in 1973. The album was produced by Viñico Tafur. It was Reyes' final work, as she died in October 1973. She suffered from diabetes and was in poor health which was worsened by her musical career. She went blind in May 1973 and asked composer Pedro Pacheco Cuadro to write a farewell song for her. The album and song were released in August 1973, by which time Reyes was confined to a wheelchair. She died two months later in October 1973 at age 37. Lucha Reyes (Peruvian Singer)
Lucila J. Sarsines Reyes (July 19, 1936 РOctober 31, 1973), was a Peruvian performer and one of the most respected singers of her country, one of Peru's most famous Afro-Peruvian personalities as well as a symbol of Peruvian nationalism both in Peru and to expatriates. She was also known by the pseudonyms "La Morena de Oro del Per̼", given to her by Augusto Ferrando, and "La Reina de la Popularidad". She is well known for her voice and her music has gone through history as some of the best in the history of Peruvian music.
