Lucha Reyes (Peruvian Singer)
Lucila J. Sarsines Reyes (July 19, 1936 – October 31, 1973), was a Peruvian performer and one of the most respected singers of her country, one of Peru's most famous Afro-Peruvian personalities as well as a symbol of Peruvian nationalism both in Peru and to expatriates. She was also known by the pseudonyms "La Morena de Oro del Perú", given to her by Augusto Ferrando, and "La Reina de la Popularidad". She is well known for her voice and her music has gone through history as some of the best in the history of Peruvian music. ''La Morena de Oro del Perú'' was the debut album of the Peruvian singer Lucha Reyes. It was released at the end of 1970 on the FTA (Fabricantes Técnicos Asociados) label (FLPS-86). The album was produced by Viñico Tafur. It was Reyes' first full-length album, and it was presented to the press in December 1970 at a press conference (''pictured above left'') at the Hotel Crillón in Lima. A cajón (; "box", "crate" or "drawer") is a box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru, played by slapping the front or rear faces (generally thin plywood) with the hands, fingers, or sometimes implements such as brushes, mallets, or sticks. The vals criollo ( en, Creole waltz), or Peruvian waltz ( es, vals peruano), is an adaptation of the European waltz brought to the Americas during colonial times by Spain. Marinera
Marinera is a courtship dance that originated along the coastal regions of Peru, using handkerchiefs as props. The dance is a mix of Spanish contradanza and Andean zamacueca, and is a stylized reenactment of a courtship, showing a blend of the different cultures of Peru. The dance has gained recognition throughout South America and is known as the most prominent traditional dance of Peru. The city of Trujillo has been recognized as the national birthplace of the marinera since 1986. Pedro Miguel Salgadinho Pacheco de Melo (born 27 June 1984), known as Pacheco, is a professional soccer player who plays for CU Micaelense as a defensive midfielder.
