Mettukudi
''Mettukudi'' () is a 1996 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language comedy film directed by Sundar C. starring Karthik (actor), Karthik, Gemini Ganesan, Goundamani, Nagma and Manivannan. The music was composed by Sirpy with cinematography by U. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by P. Sai Suresh. The film released on 29 August 1996 to positive reviews. The movie is based on the 1990 Malayalam movie ''His Highness Abdullah''. __TOC__ Plot The story starts in the 9th century. King Raja Raja Chola presents his valuable sword to his commander-in-chief, for playing a vital role in winning a war. It was preserved by his family descendants. This information was known by an archaeologist, who plans to steal it due to its monetary value. Presently, Gemini Ganesan is charged with the care of the sword. Vinayagar Sundar Vel (born 21 January 1966), known professionally as Sundar C., is an Indian film director, actor and producer. He has directed over 34 films in Tamil and acted in 17 movies as the protagonist. His notable films include ''Ullathai Allitha'' (1996), '' Arunachalam'' (1997), ''Unnai Thedi'' (1999), ''Anbe Sivam'' (2003), ''Winner'' (2003), '' Giri'' (2004), ''Kalakalappu'' (2012), ''Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru'' (2013), ''Aranmanai'' (2014), ''Aambala'' (2015) and ''Kalakalappu 2'' (2018). Gemini Ganesan
Ramasamy Ganesan (17 November 1920 – 22 March 2005), better known by his stage name Gemini Ganesan, was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He was referred to as the ''Kaadhal Mannan'' (King of Romance) for his romantic roles in films. Ganesan was one of the "three biggest names of Tamil cinema", the other two being M. G. Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman (born 13 September 1960), better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema. Vasu, popularly known as Halwa Vasu, (died 17 August 2017) was a comedian in the Tamil film industry in India. He worked in around 900 films. Career Vasu who hailed from Madurai district, came to Chennai to work in cinemas after his graduation.
