Metti (film)
''Metti'' () is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Mahendran. The film stars Sarath Babu, C. R. Vijayakumari, Raadhika, Vadivukkarasi and Rajesh. It is based on Mahendran's own novel of the same name that was serialised in the magazine ''Chaavi''. The film was released on 14 January 1982. Plot Pattabhi arrives on the scene looking to rent a house. He befriends a tea seller and an all purpose broker, who takes him to Kalyani amma's house. When he meets her, Pattabhi reveals that he is the son of Kalyani's estranged husband and that he has come to expiate for his father's sins. Kalyani allows him to rent a room in her house and Pattabhi meets his two sisters Sulekha and Preetha, who is dressed as a Gujarathi woman. The house does not belong to Kalyani amma but is instead owned by a Gujarathi man who is usually away. Mahendran (filmmaker)
J. Alexander (25 July 1939 – 2 April 2019), known professionally as Mahendran, was an Indian film director, screenwriter and actor, known for his work in the Tamil film industry. Mahendran is regarded as one of the greatest film makers of Tamil cinema and has influenced several filmmakers of the generations that followed. Mahendran entered the film industry as a screenwriter, writing scripts for nearly 26 films. He made an immediate impact with his first directional venture ''Mullum Malarum'' (1978). Mahendran's next film ''Uthiripookkal'', based on a short story written by Pudumaipithan, firmly established him as an important filmmaker in Tamil cinema. His ''Nenjathai Killathe'' won three National Film Awards including the award for the best regional film. Yaar Kannan
Yaar Kannan is an Indian film director and screenwriter who has worked on Tamil films. He made his debut with the 1985 with the horror film '' Yaar?'' and regularly collaborated with Ramarajan in the late 1980s. Career After assisting Mahendran, Kannan made his debut as a filmmaker by directing '' Yaar?'' (1985), a horror film which gave a breakthrough to actor Arjun in the Tamil film industry. The success of the film prompted the director to use the film's name as a prefix and he subsequently went on to make several films in the late 1980s with Ramarajan including '' Namma Ooru Nayagan'' (1988), ''Anbu Kattalai'' (1989) and ''Kaavalan'' (1990). Gangai Amaran is an Indian music composer, singer, lyricist, writer, film director and actor in Tamil films. Personal life Gangai Amaran was born in Pannaipuram in Theni district, Tamil Nadu in December 1947, as the youngest son of Daniel Ramaswamy and Chinnathayi.
