Tümer Metin
Tümer Metin (born 14 October 1974) is a Turkish former professional footballer and current pundit. Metin achieved numerous titles during his career, including Süper Lig titles with respective centenary of both Beşiktaş J.K. and Fenerbahçe S.K. At international level, he scored 7 goals in 26 appearances for the Turkey national team. Career Metin was born in Zonguldak. After playing for four years at Samsunspor, he was transferred to Beşiktaş, along with team-mate İlhan Mansız in 2001. He signed a contract with Fenerbahçe in June 2006 after spending five years at Beşiktaş. Metin's star shone brightly in Europe during the 2006–07 UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie against AZ Alkmaar. Metin Kaplan (born 14 November 1952) is the leader of the Islamic extremism, Islamic extremist movement ''Kalifatsstaat'' ("Caliphate, Caliphate State") which is based in Cologne, Germany. Kalifatsstaat Kaplan was born in the Provinces of Turkey, Turkish province of Erzurum. Kaplan, who was prosecuted as an enemy of the state in Turkey and faced the death penalty, came to Germany in 1983 as a refugee, together with his father, Cemaleddin Kaplan (also known as Cemaleddin Hocaoğlu), who was a leading figure in Turkish Islamist circles in Germany. Metin Yurdanur (born 1951) is a sculptor based in Turkey, who was awarded the title State Artist of Turkey. Early years Yurdanur was born in 1951 in Sivrihisar town of Eskişehir Province in Turkey. He spent his childhood until high school in his hometown. He was impressed by antique works of art, especially by the three-millennium old Phrygian reliefs, that inspired him for plastic arts. After finishing the high school, he enrolled as a boarding student in the Department of Arts at Gazi Institute for Education in Ankara, what is today the Faculty of Vocational Education at Gazi University. Metin Yüksel (July 17, 1958 – February 23, 1979), was a Kurdish-Turkish political and social Islamist activist. One of the main leaders of Turkey's Islamic movement during the 1970s, he also led the Akıncılar Organization, a political organization. Metin Toker (1924 – 18 July 2002) was a Turkish journalist and writer. Life He was born in Istanbul. After finishing Galatasaray High School, he studied French philology at Istanbul University graduating in 1948. He then went to France to study Political Sciences. In 1955 after returning home, he married Özden İnönü, the daughter of İsmet İnönü, the second president of Turkey (in office 1938–1950) and the leader of the Republican People's Party. Metin Toker died on 18 July 2002 in Ibni Sina Hospital of Ankara University. He was laid to rest at the Cebeci Asri Cemetery in Ankara. He was survived by his wife, two daughters, Gülsün Bilgehan, Nurperi Özlen, a son Güçlü, and his grandchild named Maya.
