Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), is a country in East Asia, at the junction of the East and South China Seas in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, with the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the northwest, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Anthelion (band)
Anthelion are a Taiwanese symphonic black metal band. The current members are Code, Zeist, Troy and Siniz. Biography Beginning (2001-2004) Anthelion was founded by members Code, Zeist, Troy and Jin in Keelung, Taiwan in 2001. Three months later, they released their first demo containing three songs pertaining to the band's original melodic, black metal inspired sound. In 2002, when the members of Anthelion were only 19 years old, they were for the first time invited to perform at a large music festival - Formoz Festival - in Taiwan. In this year, Anthelion also performed at the Metal Immortal (金屬永生) concert in Taiwan, which was headlined by Dark Funeral. Following this, Anthelion were the opening act for ChthoniC's Relentless for 7 Years concert (冥誕七年演唱會). In 2003, bassist Edward joined Anthelion, replacing Jin, and along with new guitarist Chaos, Anthelion performed at the Spring Scream Festival in Kenting, Taiwan, which was held in April of that year ...

Chthonic (band)
Chthonic (sometimes typeset ChthoniC or ChThoniC) is a Taiwanese heavy metal band, formed in 1995 in Taipei. They have been called "the Black Sabbath of Asia." The group incorporates influences from traditional Taiwanese music, including adaptations of folk songs and the use of traditional instruments, most notably the erhu (often called the ''hiân-á'' [] in the band's native Taiwanese Hokkien). Their stated goal is to use their music to bring ancient history and mythology into the modern era especially to build awareness of the myths of Taiwan and tragic events in that country's history (for example, those experienced by the Seediq people). Since 2011 their trademark erhu has been complemented with stringed instruments including the koto and shamisen, as well as Tibetan Bells and shakuhachi and pgaki flutes, the latter of which are traditionally used by the aboriginal people of Taiwan. Elephant Gym
Elephant Gym () is a math rock band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in February 2012. The group consists of siblings KT Chang (bass) and Tell Chang (guitar), and drummer Chia-Chin Tu. The word "elephant" in the band name symbolizes their bass-driven melodies, and "gym" refers to their agile and irregular rhythms. History Formation, ''Balance'' EP, ''Angle'' and hiatus (2014–2016) As children, KT and Tell Chang were trained in classical music by their mother, while Chia-chin Tu learned classical percussion. Fire EX
Fire Ex. () is a punk rock band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in 2000, which sings in both Taiwanese Hokkien and Mandarin Chinese. The group consists of Sam (vocals), Orio (guitar), Pipi (bass), and KG (drums). The band is known for their social activism supporting Taiwanese independence and same-sex marriage. During the Sunflower Student Movement in 2014, student activists occupying the Legislative Yuan frequently played their song "Goodnight, Taiwan" and asked them to write a new song for the movement. This led to the writing of "Island's Sunrise" (島嶼天光; ), which became the unofficial anthem of the movement. No Party For Cao Dong
No Party For Cao Dong () is an indie rock band from Taiwan currently consisting of Wood Lin (vocals and guitar), Judy Chan (guitar), and Sam Yang (bass). Former drummer Fan Tsai was found dead in a quarantine hotel in October 2021. History 2012–2014: Formation Guitarists and vocalists Wood Lin and Judy Chan met each other in high school, and remained friends during their days at Taipei National University of the Arts. In 2012, they started a band with schoolmates Lee You on bass and Huang Shih-Wei on drums, naming it Party at Cao Dong Street (草東街派對) after the eponymous road in Shilin District, Taipei, where they often hung out; Lin would skateboard there while Chan would run alongside him, accompanying him to lose weight. Seraphim (band)
Seraphim () is a Taiwanese power metal band. History Formed in 2001 in Taipei, Taiwan, they recorded their first song "Love Hate" for a demo weeks later, gaining notice and eventually a contract from Magnum Music (Taiwan) in April. Within a month they recorded their first album, ''The Soul That Never Dies'' (不死魂), which was released in August. Following the album's release they did a few shows to help promote it, and by November they started writing new material for a second album. In January 2002, they were invited to perform at the Kung-Ming music festival in Mainland China. Soon afterwards they began recording their second album, ''The Equal Spirit'' (平等精靈). Their debut album also gained a European release through the independent label Arise. The second album was released in Taiwan on 10 September 2002.
