Central High School is a public secondary school for grades 9-12 located in Grand Junction, Colorado. Its enrollment is 1,598, and it is operated by Mesa County Valley School District No. 51. History Central High School graduated its first class of seniors in 1948. The school was first established and located in an old adobe building at 29 Road and North Avenue, a site formerly occupied by Fruitvale Elementary School and Fruitvale High School. Fruita Monument High School
Fruita Monument High School is a public high school located in Fruita, Colorado, United States, serving 10-12th grades. It is part of Mesa County Valley School District 51. History The first purpose-built high school building in Fruita was completed in 1905 under the name Fruita Union High School. After that structure burned down in 1934, classes were held in a local armory. A new building was finished in 1936 and lasted until 1969, when a third location was built under the name Fruita Monument High School. A 2017 referendum resulted in a $12 million construction project to improve the safety of the school. Grand Junction High School (GJHS) is a public high school located in Grand Junction, Colorado, United States. It is part of the Mesa County Valley School District 51. It is one of four high schools located within the Grand Valley. History Originally founded in 1891, the school has been located at its current location on Fifth St. since 1956. In early 2022; an entirely new GJHS school building began construction, after the building is finished, the original building will be demolished. Palisade Senior High School is a high school located in Palisade, Colorado, United States. It is part of the Mesa County Valley School District 51. It is situated on the western edge of Palisade, on the "old highway" ( US Highway 6). The town of Palisade and the school were founded in 1904. The current school building was completed in 1992, making it one of the more modern schools in the district. Palisade High School is a participant International Baccalaureate (IB) school, the first in District 51. History The first Palisade School was built in 1893 on Second Street just east of Main Street.
