Daniel Paul Merriweather (born 17 February 1982) is an Australian R&B recording artist. Merriweather's debut solo album, '' Love & War'', was released in June 2009. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number two. It was preceded by two singles, "Change" and "Red", which both made the top 10 on the related singles chart. Merriweather has won two ARIA Music Awards, Best Urban Release in 2005 for "She's Got Me" and Best Male Artist in 2009 for ''Love & War''. In addition to his solo career, he has worked as a featured vocalist for other well-known artists. His guest vocals are included on album tracks by Disco Montego, Mark Ronson and Phrase. Merriweather Post Pavilion is an outdoor concert venue located within Symphony Woods, a lot of preserved land in the heart of the planned community of Columbia, Maryland. In 2010, Merriweather was named the second best amphitheater in the United States by ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' magazine. The venue was also ranked as the fourth best amphitheater in the United States by ''Rolling Stone'' in 2013. It was again ranked by ''Consequence of Sound'' at number 29 of all music venues in the nation out of 100 in 2016. Marjorie Merriweather Post (March 15, 1887 – September 12, 1973) was an American businesswoman, socialite, and philanthropist. She was also the owner of General Foods Corporation. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Green Bay Packers during the 1980s and 1990s. Katrina Merriweather (born August 14, 1979) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to that, she was head coach at Wright State University and the University of Memphis. Lester Julian Merriweather (born 1978) is an American visual artist and curator, known for his collage. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee. Biography Lester Julian Merriweather was born in 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee, into an African-American family. He received a BA degree in 2000 from Jackson State University; and a MFA degree in 2002 from Memphis College of Art. Merriweather also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2002. Brian Merriweather (born March 13, 1978) is an American former basketball player. He played professionally for Basket Rimini in Italy, but he is best known for his collegiate career at the University of Texas–Pan American (UTPA) between 1998–99 and 2000–01. Merriweather, a 6'3" shooting guard from Evansville, Indiana, played for one season for Cumberlands College and then transferred to UTPA for his final three seasons. As a sophomore he averaged 23.7 point per game (ppg), as a junior he averaged 20.4 ppg, and as a senior he averaged 18.1 ppg; his career average was 20.7 ppg. Major Merriweather (March 31, 1905 – February 23, 1953), better known as Big Maceo Merriweather, was an American pianist and blues singer. He was mainly active in Chicago through the 1940s. Career Born in Newnan, Georgia, he was a self-taught pianist. In the 1920s, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, to begin his music career. He moved to Chicago in 1941, where he made the acquaintance of Tampa Red. Red introduced him to Lester Melrose of RCA Victor and its subsidiary label Bluebird Records, who signed Merriweather to a recording contract.
