Kampong Menglait () or simply known as Menglait, is a village in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei, as well as a neighbourhood and commercial area in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The population was 2,262 in 2016. It is one of the villages within Mukim Gadong 'B'. The postcode is BE3919. Name Kampong Menglait used to be known as Gadong Estate which was only filled with rubber plantations. In the past, the village was known as Sungai Asgar, which was believed to be the place where soldiers were raised and where they hid during the Second World War. Kampong Menglait and its surroundings are also known as Sungai Lubuk. History In the 1980s, there were not many homes built. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway ( ms, Lebuhraya Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah; Jawi: ليبوهراي سلطان حسنال بولكيه) is a major highway in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. It is named after the current Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Route background Kilometre 0 of the highway starts at Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha, two kilometres away from the capital centre, Bandar Seri Begawan, next to the commercial area of Batu Satu. The highway starts from the junction southeast, then makes a sharp bend to continue northwest. The highway passes by the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, Kiulap and Kiarong. Mukim Gadong 'B' is a mukim in Brunei-Muara District. Brunei. The population was 33,637 in 2016. Background The mukim was established on 21 November 2005 with split of the former Mukim Gadong into this mukim and Mukim Gadong 'A'. Geography The mukim is located in the central western part of the district, bordering Mukim Gadong 'A' to the north, Mukim Berakas 'A' to the north-east, Mukim Kianggeh to the east and south and Mukim Kilanas to the south and west. Kedayan River
Kedayan River () is a tributary of the Brunei River which flows through the capital of Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan. History On 22 October 2017, the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas public park was officially opened. It was part of the Sungai Kedayan Eco-Corridor Project which aims to redevelop the area. Mukim Burong Pingai Ayer is a mukim in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei. It is located within Kampong Ayer, the traditional stilt settlements on the Brunei River in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The population was 1,770 in 2016. Name The mukim is named after Kampong Burong Pingai Ayer, one of the villages it encompasses. Over time, several names have altered such as Kampong Sungai Pandan, which was formerly known as Kampong Sungai Kuyuk, which was less popular because ''kuyuk'' in Bruneian dialect means dog. It is unknown where the name came from. Some people hypothesized that there were dogs in the neighborhood scavenging at close-by dumps for trash. Its current name is Sungai Pandan. Mukim Sungai Kedayan was a mukim in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei. It was located within Kampong Ayer, the historical stilt settlements on the Brunei River in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The population was 230 in 2016. Name The name of the mukim could be named after the village it encompasses, Kampong Sungai Kedayan. The wealthy traders used to reside in Kampong Sungai Kedayan, and the majority of senior government officials came from there. Villages Majority of the villages in the mukim no longer exists; as of 2016, the only populated village is Kampong Sumbiling Lama.
