Simon Mendes da Costa is a British playwright. He trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School between 1989 and 1991. His first play, ''Table for One'', opened at the Hen and Chickens Theatre on 6 November 2001. and he was nominated for 'Most Promising Playwright' at the Evening Standard Awards in 2005. His play ''Losing Louis'' premiered at the Hampstead Theatre, London, on 24 January 2005. Paulo Mendes da Rocha (October 25, 1928 – May 23, 2021) was a Brazilian architect. Mendes da Rocha attended the Mackenzie Presbyterian University College of Architecture, graduating in 1954. Working almost exclusively in Brazil, Mendes da Rocha began designing buildings in 1957, many of them built in concrete, a method some call "Brazilian Brutalism", arguably allowing buildings to be constructed cheaply and quickly. He contributed many notable cultural buildings to São Paulo and is widely credited with having enhanced and revitalized the city. Mendes da Rocha was a professor at the Architecture College of University of São Paulo, known as FAU-USP, until 1998. Murilo Mendes
Murilo Monteiro Mendes (May 13, 1901 – August 13, 1975) was a Brazilian Modernist poet, considered to be one of the forerunners of the Surrealist movement in Brazil. Biography Mendes was born in Juiz de Fora, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, on May 13, 1901. He subsequently moved to Niterói in order to finish his high school, and settled in Rio de Janeiro afterwards. Mendes alleges that two happenings of his life inspired him to become a poet: the sighting of Halley's Comet in 1910, and a performance of Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky he attended in 1917. Manuel Mendes
Manuel Mendes (or Manoel Mendes; c. 1547 â€“ 24 September 1605) was a Portuguese composer and teacher of the Renaissance. While his music remains obscure, he was important as the teacher of several of the composers of the golden age of Portuguese polyphony, including Duarte Lobo and Manuel Cardoso. He was born in Lisbon, and studied music with Cosme Delgado in Évora as a youth. Later he was appointed ''mestre de capela'' at the cathedral in Portalegre, but returned to Évora to receive a bachelor's degree in 1575. Louis Mendes (born June 15, 1940) is a photographer from New York City who is known for his signature press camera, portraits and street portraits. Life and work Mendes was born in a working-class family in Jamaica, Queens, New York (state), New York, in 1940. He was a young child when his elder sister handed him a camera to begin documenting family events. Later Mendes would study at the RCA Institute of Technology.
