Alan John Brown (born 25 January 1946) is a former Australian politician who served as a Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division), Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, and Leader of the Opposition (Victoria), Leader of the Opposition from 1989 to 1991. Electoral District Of Melbourne
The electoral district of Melbourne is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It currently includes the localities of Docklands, Carlton, Melbourne, East Melbourne, West Melbourne, North Melbourne, Parkville, Newmarket, Kensington and Flemington, and includes Melbourne University. The district has been in existence since 1856 (it was abolished in 1859 and reestablished in 1889). The electorate was won in 2014 for the first time by Greens candidate Ellen Sandell. History Melbourne was one of the inaugural districts of the first Assembly in 1856. Early life Cole was born in Millicent, South Australia, and spent his early years in Malaysia where his father was a military police officer in the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police stationed at RAAF Butterworth in Penang. The electoral district of Werribee is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It has existed in two incarnations, first from 1976 to 2002, and was created again in the 2013 redistribution and came into effect at the 2014 state election. Based on the rapidly growing outer south west suburbs of Melbourne, it takes in areas from Tarneit and Lara. It covers the suburbs of Werribee, Wyndham Vale, and the rural areas surrounding these suburbs to the south and west. Ken Coghill
Kenneth Alistair Coghill (born 10 November 1944 in Mansfield, Victoria) is a former Australian politician. Life and career Educated at Caulfield Grammar School, Coghill studied Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne and worked as a veterinarian before serving on the Wodonga City Council. He entered the Victorian Legislative Assembly as a Labor Party Member for Werribee in the 1979 State elections, and served as the Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1988 to 1992. After retiring from Parliament in 1995, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne. He is currently an associate professor at Monash University. Electoral District Of Box Hill
The electoral district of Box Hill is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, covering an area of in eastern Melbourne. It contains the suburbs of Box Hill, Box Hill North, Box Hill South, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, most of Blackburn, Blackburn North, and Blackburn South, and parts of Balwyn North, Burwood, Burwood East, and Surrey Hills. It lies within the Eastern Metropolitan Region in the upper house, the Legislative Council. Electoral boundary changes The electoral district of Doncaster was split off from Box Hill and created in 1976 due to population growth. A redistribution of electorate boundaries in 1991 abolished the Balwyn electorate and incorporated most of it into Box Hill. Robert William Clark (born 11 March 1957) is a former Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1988 to 2018, representing the electorates of Balwyn (1988–1992) and Box Hill (1992–2018). Carlo Domenico Carli (born 6 April 1960) is an Australian politician, and president of association football (soccer) Brunswick Zebras Football Club. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1994 to 2010, representing the electorate of Brunswick. Early life Carlo was born in Melbourne in 1960. His parents came to Australia from Italy after WWII. They come from Vicenza, in the old Venetian republic and lived first in Carlton and later in Coburg. Carlo worked alongside his father at General Motors during his student years. After matriculating at Newlands High School, Carlo went on to study politics and languages at University of Melbourne.
