Ken Coghill
Kenneth Alistair Coghill (born 10 November 1944 in Mansfield, Victoria) is a former Australian politician. Life and career Educated at Caulfield Grammar School, Coghill studied Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne and worked as a veterinarian before serving on the Wodonga City Council. He entered the Victorian Legislative Assembly as a Labor Party Member for Werribee in the 1979 State elections, and served as the Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1988 to 1992. After retiring from Parliament in 1995, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne. He is currently an associate professor at Monash University. Electoral District Of Derrimut
Derrimut was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was located in the western suburbs of Melbourne and contained the suburbs of Albion, Derrimut as well as parts of St Albans and Sunshine. It was first created in the redistribution undertaken before the 1985 election where it was easily won by the Labor Party's David Cunningham he held the seat until it was abolished before the 1992 election with Cunningham contesting and winning the seat of Melton. However the seat was re-established prior to the 2002 election where it was won by Telmo Languiller whose seat of Sunshine was abolished in the same redistribution. Derrimut was again abolished in 2014, with Languiller shifting to the seat of Tarneit. David Cunningham (politician)
David James Cunningham (born 31 March 1936) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Glen Huntly, and prior to politics he was an organiser and industrial officer with the Australian Workers' Union. In 1980 he was elected to Melton Shire Council, and he was also Vice-President of the Western Region Commission. A member of the Labor Party, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 1985 as the member for Derrimut Derrimut is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Brimbank Local government area. Jack Culpin
John Albert "Jack" Culpin (4 October 1927 – 2 September 2014) was an Australian politician. Born in Collingwood to postal officer Albert Culpin and his wife Leura, he worked as an electrical fitter and was a shop steward with the Electrical Trades Union for twenty years. On 23 June 1951 he married June Marie Ballard (Deceased), with whom he had four sons Gary, Trevor, Rodney (Deceased) & Dale. In 1961 he was elected to Broadmeadows City Council, serving until 1978; he was mayor from 1965 to 1966. Digby Crozier
Digby Glen Crozier (born 16 May 1927) is a former Australian politician. He was born in London to medical practitioner John Edwin Digby Crozier and Nancy Legoe, who were from Adelaide; Nancy's father was Glen Legoe (1864–1951) of George Wilcox & Co; Capt. John Legoe (c. 1824–1895) was a grandfather. He attended Geelong Grammar School and then Caius College, Cambridge, where he received a Master of Arts. From 1945 to 1946 he served in the Royal Australian Navy, and afterwards became a grazier near Casterton. On 20 April 1957 he married Mary Jill Salter; they had four children. He was a councillor at Glenelg from 1965 to 1973, serving as president from 1967 to 1968. In 1973 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as a Liberal member for Western. Steven Marshall Crabb (born 15 January 1943) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Arbroath in Scotland, the son of Steven Crabb, an RAF warrant officer, and Gertrude. He attended local state schools and joined the Labour Party, of which he was an office-bearer. He emigrated to Australia in June 1966, joining the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society as joint assistant actuary in 1972. He joined the Labor Party and was a member of the federal executive of the Australian Insurance Employees Union from 1966 to 1970 and from 1972 to 1976, serving as vice-president for the latter period. The electoral district of Mornington is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. The electorate can be described as outer metropolitan and rural, including animal farming, grape production and wineries. The district is 155 square kilometres in area. It was first created in 1859 when the Electoral district of Evelyn and Mornington was abolished and split in two. The district of Mornington initially included the entire Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island and French Island. Currently it includes Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha and Tuerong, and parts of Baxter and Moorooduc. Mornington has been held by the Liberal Party since it was re-created in 1985.
