Melodifestivalen 1981
Sweden chose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 in the national selection ''Melodifestivalen 1981''. After a tight race, the winner was a song called "Fångad i en dröm", which was performed by Björn Skifs. Björn was also the Swedish representative in the 1978 contest, and had written the song together with Bengt Palmers. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1981 Melodifestivalen 1981 was the selection for the 21st song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 20th time that this system of picking a song had been used. 90 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. The final was held in the Cirkus in Stockholm on 21 February 1981, presented by Janne Loffe Carlsson and was broadcast on TV1 but was not broadcast on radio. It was the second time that Lasse Holm and Kikki Danielsson had been beaten into second place by Björn Skifs, after 1978. Björn Skifs
Björn Nils Olof Skifs (; born 20 April 1947) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, actor, and screenwriter. Career Björn Skifs formed his first musical group, Slam Creepers, in 1962. Slam Creepers split in 1969 and Skifs went on to form a new band, Blåblus (a farmer's or workman's shirt (blus, blouse) made from blue (blå, blue) fabric - a pun (blues)) in 1972. As the lead singer of Blue Swede (another pun - blue + suede), the band had a No. 1 hit on ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1974 with a cover of Mark James's "Hooked on a Feeling". Skifs embarked on a solo career after Slam Creepers broke up in 1969 and previously he had recorded the duet ''Med varann'' with Anni-Frid Lyngstad for his 1975 album ''Schiffz!''. Melodifestivalen (; literally "the Melody Festival") is an annual song competition organised by Swedish public broadcasters Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR). "God morgon" is a pop song in Swedish, performed by the pop and country group Chips, just then named "Sweets 'n Chips", at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1981, where it finished 2nd. Its lyrics are about morning. "God morgon" was written by Lasse Holm and Torgny Söderberg. With this song, Elisabeth Andreasson and Britta "Tanja" Johansson made their Melodifestivalen debuts. Chips (band)
Chips was a Swedish country group formed in Sweden in 1979. History Chips finished 4th in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1980 with the song " Mycke' mycke' mer", with Lars Westman, Lisa Magnusson, Mats Rådberg and Monica Silverstrand (back then Barwén) as background singers. After Melodifestivalen 1980, Johansson also became a member. In 1980, the album ''Chips'' was released and shortly after this, Elisabeth Andreasson became a member. Just some weeks after this, they toured the former West Germany.
